5.0 out of 5 stars Great Blend, 5 Aug. 2014
This review is from: Marrakesh Mint (Misc.)
Great blend of Moroccan mint in a tea bag. Good taste and subtle blend. Green tea not overwhelming of the mint. Delivered quickly and in good condition. The bags are made with a silky fibre that seems to aid brewing rather than the common type of bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Walking Comfort, 25 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Skechers Women's GO Walk (Shoes)
I took on board what was said about sizes coming up big on this as I tend to buy a half or full size bigger for comfort. I bought a size 5, which is my proper size and there is still room in the toes. It is a snug comfortable fit. The style is also suitable for me to wear to work with work clothes. Love them. They are well made and allow the feet to breathe whether wearing socks or not.

They were delivered quickly with all the packaging intact. Good buy. I would buy Go Walk shoes again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, 13 Jun. 2011
The product arrived quickly, well packaged. The colour was not quite the same as that depictd in the images. It fits the iPad2 well and there is no interference with any of the controls. The magnetic on/off element of the cover works well too. Early days but it seems to protect the iPad well.

Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser
Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh Baking, 13 May 2010
I've had this breadmaker since March, having done research and finding that this one seemed to be the best on the market. This was my first foray into breadmakers, usually kneading by hand. The instructions with the manual and front panel are easy to follow - practically idiot-proof- whether making bread/dough with ready-made bread mixes or with the flour and yeast. Comes out perfect every time, much better than when I knead and prove it myself.

The breadmaker does take up a little space and when the bread is ready the inner container is very hot so you have to be careful how you take the bread out. The parts clean easily after a soaking for a short time in water. This is a robust machine that work well and does what it says on the box. I can't compare it to any other breadmaker but I love this one and the end products taste great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pink, pink, pink!, 16 Mar. 2010
This was a Christmas gift for my niece. It was not expected until after Christmas but was delivered on time. My niece has gone on to the internet without any problems and has set up all her email, Skype etc. It has a trial 60 days of MS Office (Student edition). That's fine until one has to pay for the necessary software. My niece is in love with the netbook and is very happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pink Netbook, 16 Mar. 2010
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my teenage niece. She absolutely loves it. Not just because it's pink but because of it's functionality. The day she got it she was able to set up her email and all the other software and sites she uses on the internet. She happily downloads images and uses the netbook for her studies also. The item was delivered on time and intact. All in all a very happy teenager.

Man Like I
Man Like I

1.0 out of 5 stars Over hyped, 29 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Man Like I (Audio CD)
I didn't like this at all. Not sure what the music is supposed to be it is such an eclectic mix. Sure many will enjoy it but as someone who loves soul, jazz, R & B, gospel, funk, reggae this did nothing for me. Music is always a matter of personal taste and I just didn't like it on any level, even wiped it off my MP3. Sorry!

Bitches' Brew
Bitches' Brew
by Fred Khumalo
Edition: Paperback
Price: £14.99

5.0 out of 5 stars South Africa with a Jazz flavour, 29 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Bitches' Brew (Paperback)
This story is set in the townships of South Africa and covers the many years and loves of the main female and male characters of the book, Lettie & Zakes. The characters love each other but can never really get it together. There is sexual violence, criminal violence in the book. Each chapter is named after a song by jazz trumpeter, Miles Davies, hence the title of the book. Music, shebeens and transient life/lifestyles pervade the themes of the story.

The South African author of this book quite rightly won the European Union Literary Award 2005 for this novel. It's a wonderful evocative book that lets you imagine the time & place the book is set in with the background of apartheid dictating the prospects of the characters. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Love & intrigue in the church!, 29 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Second Sunday (Paperback)
This story is about a baptist church whose pastor has just died suddenly less than a year before an important anniversary of the church. The men of the church board need to select a new pastor but the women decide they are not doing a good job in the selection process so decide to take matters into their own hands. There are love stories within the themes, a black woman passing for white, pregnancy, single mother, divorce. It is a quick easy read with a Christian based theme. Funny and sad in parts. It is not a deep complex book but still satisfying all the same.
