2.0 out of 5 stars Very Dissappointed, 3 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have a 7500i scanner already and like may people suffered from dark images. I ordered this new model as it had a different light source and supposedly the multi-exposure worked better for high contrast and dark images.

The images from the 8200i seem to have a narrower dynamic range than the 7500i, images are darker and the ME function is not improved. I returned it to Amazon

Would have preferred to have got a retail pack rather than labels stuffed in an envelope. Labels are good though

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what you expect it to at a reasonable price, 20 Jan 2014

I wanted a charger with a figure of eight plug rather than connectors on the back. Works great. Can't comment on how good the battery is but it charged OK

2.0 out of 5 stars Not new and scratched, 12 Nov 2012
Sent this straight back as it was scratched and obviously not brand new. It also didn't come with a software disk. Gave it 2 stars as it was probably fully working but I didn't bother checking it out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, works but you need some IT Knowledge, 10 Feb 2012
It does what it says on the tin, it provides 5 extra USB ports. The speed will be limited by your PC so don't expect full USB 2.0 speed, nothing wrong with the card.

When fitting to the PC and installing it is important that you follow the instructions.
First run the CD you get with it.
Second fit the card, reload the system and wait for all the drivers to be set up.It should then work fine.

When installing the card in the PCI slot make sure you insert it and make sure its pressed home. If it doesn't work properly, take out and then press back in, don't be afraid of putting pressure on it and wiggle it if necessary by pressing down on each end alternatively.

The instructions you get only take you upto Windows XP but I installed it OK on Vista.

Good for the extra ports but if you want extra speed you may to get a PCIe version which is a lot more expensive, just attach your slow devices to this, e.g. webcam, keyboard, mouse, remote control..

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine 2nd time around, 9 Feb 2012
First of all got one of these as a present for christmas and it was DOA, well it whirred a lot but the drawer wouldn't open. That got sent back and I got a second model. This works perfectly. Remember though you need 2 USB ports close together so if your netbook/laptop doesn't have them you'll find this a problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive and not perfect, 9 Feb 2012
I bought this card after trying 2 of the Chinese 4 port cards. Both of those on my PC a Dell XPS420 had a lot of trouble connecting to my USB 3.0 drives so sent them both back. I guess on some PCs they would be fine.

This one installed OK and looked to be going well, until it disconnected 400 Gb into a backup. AT which point it was no longer useable without uninstalling and re-installing the drivers and numerous reloads.

I am sure it would be fine on some PCs but as I wanted to use it to backup lots of precious data I cannot risk it so have returned it. I prefer to have good old reliable USB 2.0 on my PC rather than a questionable USB 3.0 card.

I'll try USB 3.0 again in 2 years time when I replace my PC by which time it should be stable technology.

Don't get me wrong this should be fine on a lot of PCs you just don't know until you try it.

Have deducted 1 star as it failed on my PC and another as its quite expensive compared to other cards
