3.0 out of 5 stars Yes a classic but too linear, 1 May 2008
This review is from: The Story of Art (Paperback)
He loves a neat linear narrative.
Insisting all western art (and there's nothing non-Western) follows a first there was this, then artists thought that, then artists thought that is way too simplistic.

Yes it's a classic but is only useful in the classroom for school-age kids to grasp what a wide range of Euro-centric art looked like but nothing beyond that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much sexier than Convent Of Hell, 1 May 2008
This review is from: The Piano Tuner (Paperback)
Much MUCH sexier than Convent of Hell & better illustrated. Quite straight forward positions though. Just could have been a bit... dirtier. But that's just me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much rape to float my boat, 29 April 2008
This review is from: The Convent of Hell (Paperback)
Really not nearly as sexy & steamy as it could be.
More raping than shagging.
I do like a good bit of smut but funnily enough I stop at rape yet "Convent Of Hell" fills out the vast majority of the shagging scenes with raping penis-octopi, raping dildo-wielding-nuns, raping-devil. I know the devil's a bad boy but this just didn't float my boat and no amount of averagely drawn comic-book distance between me and the subject can really persuade me that this qualifies as erotic.

Might draw my own...
