5.0 out of 5 stars Needed for school project, 31 Aug. 2009
Lovely photos, lots of detail, probably too much for the project my son was doing, but I found it fascinating. Layout is very clear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Divine music, 11 May 2009
My current favourite composer - pieces vary in difficulty from very straight forward to a bit tricky, but the key to them is expresssion. I have heard them played completely differently by different pianists. Just divine music.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible tasting but daughter feels she's cooking, 6 April 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
Absolutely foul chemical concoction - very surprised this toxic mixture can be sold for children. However, my daughter forces them down and loves making them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun!, 6 April 2009
Easy to put together, great fun and very tiring. Just perfect for the kids when the adverts are on (reduces guilt about letting them watch the goggle box).

The Story of Stock and Buttsbury
The Story of Stock and Buttsbury
by Charles Phillips
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent and warm, 13 Jan. 2008
Thoroughly researched and affectionately written story of the area. Charles Phillips brings to life the story of the two villages, and leaves you inspired to visit the places mentioned and perhaps do your own research.

About The Size Of It: The Common Sense Approach To Measuring Things
About The Size Of It: The Common Sense Approach To Measuring Things
by Warwick Cairns

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and Educational!!, 8 Oct. 2007
This is like having Warwick Cairns sitting in your kitchen with you with all your cups and jugs and tape measures out, and he is talking you through why they are the size they are, and making you giggle while you accept what he says! Do the experiments in his book, but try not to spit the water everywhere through laughing when you are trying to measure an American cup!! Also, do not go outside wearing husband's boots to test other theories when it is raining as socks will become unpleasantly wet and husband will not be impressed with wet boots next morning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frankly loony, but very funny talking pony adventure, 9 April 2006
My daughter thinks it is the best ponies ever in the whole wide world. There are four amazing ponies whose lips appear to move as they "talk" or even "sing" the silliest songs ever. Very silly but excellent fun!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is brilliant, 8 Oct. 2005
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I feel sure that the makers of previous series of Dr Who must sit there with their jaws slack with amazement at the budget and technology available to the makers of this series. It is fantastic. One of the things I really appreciate about it is how it hangs together as a series - it bears watching again and again - spot the "Bad Wolf" references, and the conincidences throughout the series. One or two episodes are not as good as the others, but it really works as a series, and it really works as a good piece of entertainment - funny, fast-paced, action-packed and tender, and tremendously moral - with unfashionable messages of loyalty, responsibility, honesty and forgiveness too. The sad fate of the time-lords is not fully explained, and I feel sure we will find out more eventually. This doctor has a guilty secret, and I'm intrigued. The casting is superb, and Billie Piper is an absolute revelation. What a marvellous companion she makes for the Doctor. She is brave and resourceful, and her natural personality is a good foil for the Doctor. In short - marvellous!!
