Missing 411-Western United States & Canada: Unexplained disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved
Missing 411-Western United States & Canada: Unexplained disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved
by David Paulides
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed this book, 7 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Having listened to Paulides on quite a few podcasts, which I stumbled upon by total chance, I was intrigued and had to read this.

There are still no answers provided in the book and Paulides makes the beginnings of some pattern recognition about the missing cases I.e., disappearing with family dog, eating berries to survive, being found in a location previously searched and coroners unable to establish cause of death (for those not found alive).

The only few downsides were that it can feel repetitive. Paulides is so factual about each case that you are almost left wanting more of a story out of it. Though actually I can see how this would be inappropriate. I was inspired to buy his Missing 411: The Devil's in the Detail after this.

Better than many of the medications your dr will give you, this book is decades of tried and tested knowledge and tips to help relieve your suffering. If you have ever suffered with cystital pain in any form repeatedly, you will believe when I say you need to buy this book now.

The Devil In The White City
The Devil In The White City
by Erik Larson
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.99

3.0 out of 5 stars too much about architecture and the fair!!, 17 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was disappointed with this book. Namely because every other chapter (sometimes more than every other) was concerned with the men who designed and built the fair (the chicago world fair) and had absolutely nothing to do with H H Holmes, the primary reason I purchased this book. I found the podcast 'stuff you missed in history class' episodes for H H Holmes fascinating and bought this book on their recommendation however, unless you are particularly interested in architecture you will get bored quickly. Some of the information about Holmes is excellent, and it is very well written, however if you took all the stuff about the architecture of the fair out, the book would probably only be about 50 pages. Sad.

3.0 out of 5 stars okay but your urologist could help you more, 17 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I found this helpful but only ever used it in conjunction with a range of other therapies, i.e., painkillers and cranberry tablets for the treatment of cystitus. Therefore I cannot give it a fair review. It is definately worth having in your cupboard.

The Red Tent
The Red Tent
by Anita Diamant
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.59

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story of life and loss amongst the Canaanite people, excellent book for midwives and non midwives alike, 5 Aug 2012
This review is from: The Red Tent (Paperback)
This was a beautiful book, which was recommended to me by a fellow student midwife... whilst birth and childbearing practices make up a good proportion of the book, it is not necessarily a story just of midwives, but more a tale of female strength and unity. It was beautifully written and I would recommend it to any woman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent case, and comes with additional screen protector, 6 July 2012

I was really happy with this case which both looks good, and does an excellent job of protecting your iphone. It is excellent quality for the price and all the buttons still operate functionally. It comes with a screen protector, special cloth to polish the screen and bubble-removing card to press out the bubbles when applying the screen protector. I am very happy with it and several people have commented on how nice it looks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally honest, 3 July 2007
This review is from: Moab Is My Washpot (Paperback)
This was definately one of the best books i have ever read, he is so honest in his difficulties and doesn't brag or big himself up in anyway. it really gave me a greater appreciation of the power of words, and of the relation of one human's experience to another. even though i probably have nothing in common with the author, i found this an extremely powerful and theraputic novel. his memories are particularly vivid and vast in number, spanning from age 3- to about the time he was 19. its also a fascinating insight into public school life and the authors opinions on it.
