A well-made and strong model transporter. Bought for our grand-children to play with at our house.Pricey but should last and provide lots of play value.

If you have a little boy who loves fire engines this is a great book. The story flags a little in the middle but overall a classic. The dual language version is a bonus if you or your child is learning Spanish!

Michael Frayn writes beautifully, combining humour with warmth and affection for his father, an apparently ordinary man but a fascinating one. Frayn has researched his family background and produced an account that is alternately very funny and emotional, but never sentimental. Being just a little younger than the author I was gripped by his picture of the 40s and 50s and his relationship with his father which had its ups and downs. Highly recommended.

This biography of the mathematical genius (Simon Norton) who lived in a flat below the author is funny, intriguing and moving. The author takes the reader with him on a journey to understand the nature of genius and the workings of Simon's mind, letting us in on the challenges of this task. Simon was a child prodigy but later in life became rather strange and obsessive so did not entirely fulfill his early promise. The author explains some of the advanced mathematics with amusing cartoons, but the book is really the story of a man and his life told with humour and affection. Not quite as good as his previous book,'Stuart' but a delightful and original approach to relating the story of an unusual character.
