A Creative Guide to Crochet

5.0 out of 5 stars good book good service, 14 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I Love this book I had already loaned it from my local library and decided I wanted to have one permanently. It is well written very good diagrams you are treated to diagrams etc telling how to do the different stitchews in crochet. It is not a very thick book for anyone who crochet and in particular they will find this a very good book you can copy the patterns shown in the book or use it to make you own designs very easy reading which is good becasue I have read a lot of crochet and knitting books and many fail to describe a pattern or to write down with clear concise instructions on what to do and how to di it. The book was in excellent conditionnot damaged by being posted becasue it was well paxckaged, good service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good patterns, 27 Jan 2013

I would agree with previous review this is not a book looks lime the booklets you can buy which had a small number of patterns. This should not detract from the quality patterns they are lovely and relatively easy to do for someone who is learning how to do this form of crochet they would enjoy making the afghans before moving onto the more complicated afghan patterns. Booklet arrived quickly well packaged would recommend highly the seller. IN most crochet books you will find detailed detailed pages on stitches decreasing increasing ect and other information so you are able to know how to make the patterns up in a booklet like this the information is not as detailed. I like the booklet and will enjoy making them up

5.0 out of 5 stars gorgeous bedspread, 1 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered bedspread because I had not been able to find one that would be long enough to completely cover the bed on the web site it was the colour I wanted when it arrived unfortunately it was completley different colour from the web site it was a red cover. It is absolutely beautiful there are two matching pillow cases even though the colour was not right I have decided to keep it because it looks fabulous and very opulent makes the room look completely different. The quality is good it has diasy like flowers embroidered on it they make the bedspread look really good because they are not sparse or really bright it is a made of a sateen material for the price a beautiful bedspread and good quality . It is so large it goes to the floor on both sides of the bed. I had bought one in the right colour from Dunelm it looked dreadful against this one would recomend it there are several colours just make sure it is the colour you are after

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant aid highly recommend it, 12 Mar 2012
This review is from: New! Helping Hand Classic 32"
The helping hand is wonderful and so is the company who makes them at one time if you had a problem they would replace them free of charge I have worn out the rubber end so many times because I use them for picking up everything contacted the company they replaced them the last time this happened they asked me to send them to the company postage paid and they sent me back two brand new replacements . The ones I sent in had been in use for several years and the ends replaced twice so you can imagine how happy I was. I have found them to be very versatile I am severely disabled and have them in every room I dress make and forever dropping pins etc thes are no problem I use them to pull boxes si I can reach them and have also usd them to help remove stockings etc. My cat loves to chase the grippers I use them to throw her balls. I have a folding helping hand in the garden and take one out with me. There uses are endless and as for the colour it makes no difference at least you can see them as long as the work well the colour means nothing. If you have a problem with it contact the company and they will help you The only problem is the cord which runs down to the gripper part sometimes it gets too loose all you need to do is tighten it at the knot and it will work fine again gauge how tight you need by the width of the gripper part. I have used gripper for many years because of my disabilities I would buy these all the time because they are so good there is only two other gripper that are ver good the rest are no good at all I have bought them all but return to these everytime.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Price but has its problems, 12 Mar 2012

I have been using grabbers for a long time this one is alright it is not as good as the original Helping hand even though it is roughly the same shape as the original helping hand. I have found it has faults firstly the hand control is stiff and the arm which you pull back to open the grabber is uncomfortable it can be painful holding it in the closed position grabbers are in operation holding something. This may be because of the size of my hand, my carer also finds it uncomfortable. This may ease off with use but I doubt it because of the curve in the handle. Secondly the grabbers are made of I believe some kind of hard acrylic or similar at certian items it is impossible to pick up items because they slip out of the grabber. The helping hand use a rubber end which is really successful as the items cannot slide out. The magnet is very good. You are not able to pick up very small items the tip of the grabber prevents this. If I drop a tablet on the floor carpet or tiles I can pick them up with a helping hand but not with this grabber. I had hoped this would be as good as the helping hand because of the design it is not. It does need some changes such as aa rubber end or similar to help the gripper stop items sliding out. If you are buying this for a disabled person it works okay but I would spend the extra money to get a helping hand because it is more versatile and comfortable to use.
I do use the grabber I use them in all rooms of my house and in the garde I intend to use the grabber inside and out of the home. It will be a useful tool for people if you get one you will be able to find out how useful it is to you. I bought 4 and the folding one to take shopping with me or if I go into hospital. If you are buying a grabber I would recommend the helping hand and this one there is another that has a trigger hand is also very good. I have used all the grabbers available on Amazon but would only buy this one and the others I mention.

Hozelock 4.5m x 6m Pond Liner

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good pond liner, 21 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hozelock 4.5m x 6m Pond Liner
I did measure my pond before ordering the liner when it came and I opened it to go in the pond it was absolutely massive so big it was impossible to put it in the pond. You do not get a smooth surface around the edges there are a lot of creases that need to be removed and the liner relaid to try and get rid of as many of the creases as it does not look attractive. I had a pre-formed pond which struck a leak after 5 years suppose to last 25years so I decided to try the pond liner . It is very strong but you would have to be careful what you line the pond with first to avoid punctures. Good liner but not that easy to line a pond and you definitely need help at leasy it allows you to deepen a pond. Ihave a raised pond,

4.0 out of 5 stars good product stylish, 21 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The watch arrived very quickly packaging satisfactory it is a very stylish watch attractive and different from the usual fob watch. I have been a nurse for over 25years and have used many types of fob watch. It looked better than in the photograph and is a watch that could be worn for many occupations. The only weakness could be where the chain is fixed to the bar it is very common for fob watches to over time come away hopefully it will not. The price is excellent if you get a years wear out of it it would have paid for itself. I use this watch because I am now unable to wear a wristwatch so good for someone who is disabled or find themselves in the same position I am in because it would not look out of place. Ihas also kept good time
