5.0 out of 5 stars Digi-Pig PU case for Moto E (2nd gen), yellow, 12 Aug. 2015

Good protection for the phone. Doesn't add too much bulk if you keep your phone in your pocket. Pull tab is attached to a sturdy ribbon inside the case which raises the phone up enough for you to remove it from the case. You do not have to remove/replace any part of your phone's cover to be able to use this case. Neatly stitched. Smooth edges.

A circular block is much easier to handle than fiddly loose crystals. Lasts a long time and the blue colour helps show up the liquid level so you know when to empty it. I have one of the holder units that these blocks fit into, but it also works well if you put the block in a plastic sieve over a 2L plastic kitchen jug (assuming no kids/pets to knock it over). Quick delivery. Sealed packs in unopened boxes. Will order again when I need more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Microwave Cooking Times at a Glance, 20 Feb. 2014

Good basic A to Z of ingredients & their cooking times for the following powers: 500W, 600-700W, 750-850W & 900-1000W. Cooking times for different quantities are listed, along with guides for defrosting. Useful brief introduction. Paperback with unbleached pages. Some nice small sketch illustrations. You wouldn't use this as your only recipe book because it's mostly for separate ingredients, but "it does what it says on the tin".

Nice, light tea glasses like you get in the Netherlands. Small enough volume that your boiling herbal tea cools to sensible drinking temperature more quickly than in a chunky mug. Not the daintiest version I have seen, but actually, the slightly thicker rim probably adds to the durability. You can stack pairs carefully if you're short on storage space. Great to be able to get these in the UK.

Informative, attractively-bound hardback with wipe-clean cover (no dust jacket). Lovely photography. Stays open at your chosen page on a flat surface. Useful introduction including information about GF flours. Good choice of recipes, most of which are suitable or adaptable for those following a low-FODMAP diet. The large cakes are up to 9" diameter (and a 10" Bund), so they're a proper "party size", or you could scale down for smaller tins. There are also everyday individual, muffin & loaf-tin recipes. So far, both recipes I have made have needed a longer cooking time than suggested, but my oven usually does take longer anyway, Flavour & texture are great, so it is nice that everyone can share the cake whether or not they need to be GF themselves. A lot of research has obviously gone into this book, making sure that most ingredients are available from larger supermarkets. Would make a nice gift as well as being good to buy for yourself.

Excellent for dealing with overgrown Buddleia & apple trees - fast cutting and good blade length for efficiency and allowing access to awkward cutting locations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nomad Adaptive Sound & Sleep Travel: helps with noisy neighbours, 6 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought the Nomad Travel to help cope with noisy neighbours. There are plenty of possible combinations of settings - choose the background noise itself and then add levels of enrichment (variety / irregularity of sound) and responsiveness to noise (e.g if neighbour slams door or starts their car) - so there should be an optimal setting for every user & purpose. The lights on the panel are amber and only stay on for a short time when unit switched on/off or when settings are changed, so you don't get dazzled in a dark room at night and you won't wake your other half. The unit is a nice compact shape, the sound quality is very good and the buttons are logically located and nice to operate. Have owned this unit for a month now and it is a big help in masking neighbour noise and stormy nights etc. One neighbour "goes nocturnal" and selfishly stomps up & down stairs repeatedly throughout the night - do still get woken sometimes because that sort of noise is a physical repetitive booming resonance which this machine could not be expected to cope with, but it is easier to get back to sleep and the frequency of waking has been reduced by using the machine (leave it on all night). It is worth reading the instructions carefully with regard to suggested settings to start with and what to change to tweak the sound to suit you. Crickets (part of enrichment in meadow setting) are invaluable for dealing with this neighbour because they add slight irregularity that helps you tune out of irregular noise from next door. One slight caution regarding positioning the unit: tried it on bedside table next to DAB clock radio and the radio didn't work when the machine was on* - seems to be a proximity thing. Bedside DAB works well when the Nomad is the other side of the room and don't need to keep adjusting unit's settings, so it doesn't matter that it's not immediately accessible. The bathroom DAB radio doesn't work when the Nomad is on in the bedroom the other side of a plasterboard wall, so this might be something you need to check if some rooms in the household want radio when others need their Nomad, but it can be worked round by locating the Nomad carefully. Nomad can also be used as background noise when reading/studying or to provide masking noise for a private conversation. When sold in the UK, comes boxed with US adapter and also a UK adapter so you already have the US adapter for holidays. Supplied USB plugs into either adapter. *doesn't matter if you would not use both at same time, but usually use DAB to get to sleep and Nomad to remain asleep. There is the option to connect your own audio (mp3 etc.) and listen to that for a specified time before going over to Nomad's sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hive and the Mosquito, 31 Oct. 2011
This review is from: HIVE (Toy)
An excellent game of strategy for two players. The playing pieces are nice solid hexagons with attractive insect designs on each and the travel case is good quality. The aim is to surround your opponent's Queen Bee (with your own pieces and some of theirs too) so that she cannot escape, but, of course, you also need to guard your own Queen against the same fate. Each of the insects can move in a different way - ants and spiders go round the edge, grasshoppers can jump out of an enclosed slot and beetles can climb up on to other pieces. I recommend you start playing with the set as sold here, but that you also get the pair of Mosquito pieces sold separately (one for each player) to develop your tactics once you are used to the main set. You can play on a table top, in the pub, or outside on a picnic rug etc. - anywhere with a large enough flat(ish) surface. The games are usually a good duration, but not too long, so you can play two or three games to find the overall winner, or you can limit the deciding time if you want a series of quicker games.

The Boundary (Acting Edition)
The Boundary (Acting Edition)
by Tom Stoppard
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.50

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it if you enjoyed the play, 28 Sept. 2011
Having enjoyed the play, I bought this so that I could look back over the clever word-play - not possible to remember all of the laughs after seeing the play just once. If you are going to see the play, do see it first before reading the script otherwise an important part of the story will be spoilt for you. Neat format book, clear text.
