3.0 out of 5 stars A Nice bit of Digging - and a few treasures., 2 Jan 2012
I can't see the entire logic of this release. We have had 18 series of this great programme and it's only now they want to release a series to DVD. What's the point?, we are missing the other 17 series, in all fairness i would far more appreciate and i'm sure other Time Teams fans would like to see the older series'.

Series 18 was a So-So series, so over invented by the fact we had reached the 200 episode, in some ways makes this kind of special, but in realistic terms, there is only a handful of good digs.

Maybe a release after this this release we might see the other 17 series being released... Maybe Tony and the Team might have to dig to find them first.

3.0 out of 5 stars Take it or Leave it, 18 Sep 2011
This is a great DVD for Frankie's Stand Up Fans.

I personally don't mind it but it gets a bit repetitive after awhile, many jokes become reused to often.

Overall it's a great DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything We Waited For..., 18 Sep 2011
This is the ultimate companion.
Forget the first Book (By another author on this Subject) This is the one that will tell you everything you wanted to know about Britain's best love Sitcom.

It starts with the general premise of what become On the Buses, with interviews from the cast and crew and the writers themselves.
It then goes on to the making of the programme and how hard and difficult it really was to film.
This then goes on through the films and Cast Bios.

It's not just the the fact this goes into so much detail that makes it great, it's the fact the author has taken time to actually make this a book with care and attention to detail. It is so in death and features so much information that this is the book that should be included with a DVD box set, it will make every fan happy and simply a book which no On the Buses fan could do without.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Frankie Gem, 1 Jun 2011
This review is from: Jumping for joy [DVD] (DVD)
It's not every day you get something this great from the archives that really get you excited, here comes an early Frankie Howerd gem.
He buys a greyhound and enters it in a major race, but gets mixed up with criminals who want to fix the race by doping dogs.
With a bunch of comedy greats, this is a classic

1.0 out of 5 stars Beatles Fans Avoid, 1 Jun 2011
This is possibly the worse film using music from the greatest band ever, not only is the songs ruined by the tones of someone trying to sing the creative genius of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starkey, but the acting is appalling, avoid this poor excuse of a film.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Version, 20 April 2011
Avoid this release at all costs.
The Picture is absolutely abysmal, scratched and wishy washy picture, blurry and they can't even get the menu title correct, is this film call "young and Strange".

Get the network version, i made this mistake and i can assure you this will be sent back to Amazon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Right Film, Wrong Trailer, 3 April 2011
This review is from: The Wrong Box [DVD] [1966] (DVD)
The packaging specifies that it contains the original trailer, i assume the trailer for the Wrong Box, not for the film The Hireling, a 1973 film with Robert Shaw, surely a mistake on Sony Entertainment's part.

2.0 out of 5 stars No Kidding this is'nt a Great Film!, 12 Mar 2011
This review is from: No Kidding [DVD] (DVD)
From Carry On Producer Peter Rogers and Director Gerald Thomas comes this average comedy, which is NO Carry On by a long shot.

I only have watched this once since i bought the original box set it was in (Which will work out cheaper) which was some years ago, from what i can remember it is based on a orphanage that is due for closure, reminds me a bit of the Norman Wisdom classic One Good Turn, which would be a better buy.

Otherwise from what i can remember average, below Par kind of film!

3.0 out of 5 stars The First Sub Carry On, 12 Mar 2011
This review is from: Please Turn Over [DVD] (DVD)
From the Carry On team comes this wonderful comedy.
It's not as good as later efforts but a classic.
It starts with a Novel written by Ted Ray's daughter which seems to focus on her own family and with doing so turning their life's upside down.

It's a little ditty which could be forgotten, but if you love Early Carry On then this is for you
