Dvd ~ Christian Bale
Price: 6.50

5.0 out of 5 stars slated by many but worth watching, 2 Feb 2014

Why was this film slated so badly it's far superior to T3 which lets face it Terminators going back in time to alter the future had been done then done again superbly in T2 and not so great but set the scene for this film T3 so with the fourth film it has naturally progressed to the future. I personally love this film and think this was the right thing to do with the storyline hopefully a 5th and 6th will be made.

Definately worth watching

5.0 out of 5 stars midge ure at his best, 9 Jun 2013

All midges finest solo work from his chart topping debut album to breathe.

This is such a great collection of midge on fine form not only do you get his single releases but choice tracks from his first four albums plus extended versions of the singles sadly after a fashion 12" version is not here WHY?

There are obviously a lot of tracks from midges first solo outing with the brilliant She Cried and his cover of Jefro Tulls classic Living In The Past his great version of Fade To Grey which when I bought That Certain Smile way back in the 80's this was on the b side I love it and couldn't stop playing it.

Midge over the years has produced and created some well crafted songs which stand the test of time and show what a versatile song writer he is.

This for me is the best collection at such a great price if you love Midge's solo work this is a must have for your cd collection

ok maybe my heading is a little harsh but if you're expecting an old style Duran Duran sound this is not it they seem to have opted for a 60's hippy vibe the guitars and overall sound is loud and Simon Lebon's voice sadly gets lost in the backing track..Part of the Duran sound is Simon's superd vocals which usually are crisp and beautiful here it is hard to here what he is singing.

Stand out tracks for me are
Someone Else Not Me,
Starting To Remember
Pop Trash Movie
The Sun Doesn't Shine Forever

the rest is in my opinion is shockingly bad.and not the usual quality of record i've come to know and love from Duran Duran. This is just a cd for hard core fans only.

what can you say loved them in the early days as a young lad love them now. So good to have both their albums here together at such a cheap price.

They were and still are the best ska. Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)

I am going to see them in May can't wait.

4.0 out of 5 stars great collection of Ultravox tracks, 8 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Original Gold (Audio CD)
For me this gets one less star for the following reason yes it has a varied and quit some rare Ultravox tracks but why waste space with Midge Ure's solo efforts No Regrets,Yellow Pearl Midge played guitar on this and doesn't sing, The Man Who Sold The World, Answers To Nothing. Instead the great New Europeans, We Stand Alone, The Voice, Mine For Life are all sadly missing.

However if you are looking for b sides rare tracks or don't own any Midge Ure or Ultravox this is quite a different collection. Not filled with just well known tracks but plenty of rare stuff.

Overall a good collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars great return to form for madness, 2 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
at first listen i wasn't sure if Madness had run out of steam it is a far cry from The Liberty of Norton Folgate but on the second listen i realised that this was Madness going back to what they have always done write great songs catchy choruses but with alot of the time serious subject matter. Stand out tracks for me are Leon stuck in a school class room longing of better things My Girl 2 catchy but in my opinion not the best track on this album. Suggs sings to his daughter on the track How Can I tell You quit possibly my favourite track on this album. Madness have grown up and most of them are married with children like alot of their fans, this is a mature album with humour as always thrown in.To finish this album has tracks that could easily fit in with previous albums in their heyday as a life long fan I love it can't stop listening to a definate must have for any fan.
