3.0 out of 5 stars A slightly false economy, 13 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
At the time of review, these were the cheapest bic pens that I could find at Amazon. We've had 7/8 pens that either stopped working prematurely or have leaked quite heavily. For us, they're great to have a couple in each room in case we need one quickly (we're always jotting down notes/to do's etc)..

It's not all bad because the remaining 42 pens @ £8.99 is still value for money.

Finally, we have some students in our household, so will use a more robust and reliable set of pens when reliability outweighs the need of a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dual - purpose Nylabone!, 13 Mar. 2014
I have a retriever who liked the Nylabone until and here's a tip, we squeezed some cheese in the ridges. If you really press it down, it keeps him entertained for ages as it takes about 1/2 an hour from him to lick it all out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good support for an existing shelf, 24 April 2013

We used it to prop up a shelf that was screwed in to our pretty poor wall plasterboard. Does the job perfectly and at a budget cost

5.0 out of 5 stars Big, chunky and tough (the nylabone - not the dog), 11 Mar. 2013

Keeps our adolescent retriever busy and it's good for having a intense gnawing session. It's durable too and will last about 2-3 months before it needs replacing,

....then I guess you'd like this. It's in a similar style as Telegraph Road and Sultans of Swing (rather than the Money for Nothing era)

5.0 out of 5 stars Mad, destructive fun, 4 Jun. 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Our main hero, Heller, is not having a good week. New York Zero is under tight military control, plans are afoot to suppress the masses and, oh yes, his family have been killed.

At the start of the game you're introduced to some pretty devastating but limited powers and begin your journey to right lots of wrongs. The plot/story unfolds by brief clips in the form of flashbacks from the memories of recently consumed. It's an effective, novel and powerful way of unravelling how things become as desperate as they have.

The city has a GTA4 feel to it but there are more explosive items and lots that can be interacted with....so trees do not stay perfectly upright when a car is thrown in their direction and propane gas canisters will explode if violent contact is made.

As Heller, you can not only use various bio powers such as claws that shred and tendrils that penetrate flesh but are able to throw vehicles, consume guards and use their weapons (from sub-machine guns to rocket launchers), jump the height of buildings and glide effortlessly from location A to B....and the control method is so well done that the game is fluid and responsive. Even noobs or those that struggle with some games will find the easy setting forgiving and very playable. You're almost god-like compared with foes which is all good for me as I cannot stand games where continual death is the main event.

It's all 3rd person which works perfectly for me although if you were a very, *very* harsh critic you may find that an item blocks your view for a split second on rare occasions.

Make no mistake, this is an 18 cert for a reason. Blood flows freely which is hardly surprising as most corpses Heller has dealt with are in halves, quarters and further fractions (sorry for lazy review maths-fans!). There is also a lot of x-rated language used. As a mature-ish gamer though I find this all less disturbing that a realistic FPS in a graphical representation of an actual war-zone. It really is so far fetched ...in a good way though.

Along with the main quests, there are Blackboxes to find, lairs of genetically-modified nasties to destroy, field ops to eliminate and loads of opportunities (and you will want to do this) to just enter, engage and completely wipe out pockets of "Blackwatch" troops. You can also hunt targets, consume them and then transform to their form to enter military buildings and to hack top-secret terminals.

Movement is not just horizontal along roads, but vertical running up buildings, leaping, air-dashing, gliding and there's unlockables that allow hijacking of tanks and helicopters.

All this sounds overwhelming but the beauty of this game for me is that it's all so easy to control and master. For those that like more of a challenge, there's an unlockable "insane" level.

I love this game and along with the Assassins Creed series and Mass Effect 2, it is the best yet for me on the PS3. Hope this helps and thanks for reading.
