Dewalt XR 18V Lithium-ion Brushless Impact Driver with Batteries
Dewalt XR 18V Lithium-ion Brushless Impact Driver with Batteries

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 speeds are so much better than 1, 15 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a lot better than the original single speed version.
By selecting a lower speed you can drive small screws so long as you are careful. I’ve successfully used it for 8x3/4 screws.
Using the lower speeds also saves bit wear especially when driving big screws into hard wood.
It’s much easier to handle than a drill driver.

Would be perfect if it had a non impact setting with torque control but I guess that would add weight.

Wera Impaktor Bit-Box PZ2 15 Piece WER347524
Offered by DOUBLE TEE TOOLS
Price: £28.99

5.0 out of 5 stars The only impact bits worth buying, 15 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wera make the best bits no contest. I get around 300 8x3 inch screws driven with each impaktor bit.
Tried the cheap bits from Dewalt for around £6 for 25 but they end up being much more expensive wearing out after a handful of screws.
Currently these Wera bits are advertised as PZ2 but the product details say they are Philips.
They are in fact PZ2 Pozi bits, not Philips PH2.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gap under screen protector makes screen unresponsive to tapping, 20 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As well as the reviews saying this case fits like a glove. I read others saying it has a “bouncy” screen protector that affects the use of the screen.

I got three for work ipods and all of them suffered from a bouncy screen protector. You could actually see and feel the centre of the screen protector deform under your finger.

The result is that tapping on the screen does not work. Instead it requires a firm press to push the screen protector down in order for it to make contact to the screen.

Anything along the top or bottom edge of the screen requires an even firmer press and often takes 2 or 3 attempts to make it work.

Every staff member using them had the same problems.

I replaced the Otterbox cases with Griffin Survivor cases and although they are a little bulkier they do not surfer from the bouncy screen protector, staff also report the buttons on the Griffin cases are easier to press although the volume level is lower.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product long expiry date, 12 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These Steroplast dressings are as good as any I have used previously.
Packaging is much better than some others I have seen, fairly tough and filled with air so any damage should be easily seen as it would deflate.
Got mine from DK Medical supplies and expiry date was 4 Years 9 months away which is the longest I have seen, Handy if you dont use them very often.

Hahnel Sony Type HL-G1 Battery For Sony Digital Cameras
Hahnel Sony Type HL-G1 Battery For Sony Digital Cameras
Price: £25.15

5.0 out of 5 stars These are better than the original Sony Batteries, 29 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Used them before and they always perform better, last longer per charge than the Sony batteries.

Also these batteries allow the camera to display how many minutes use you have left, the standard Sony batteries don’t do this.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are great, 29 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Got them for my Bosch PKP 18E glue gun which is 11mm diameter and they work perfectly even though they are 12mm.

They dry as clear as any other glue stick I have used, bond just as strongly and at £2.95 for 10 x 12 inch glue sticks its great value.

I also like that being longer than most other glue sticks you don’t need to reload as often.

Will definitely be buying more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this drill bit, 29 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this to replace a normal 32mm auger bit but the tri flute design is terrible.

It digs into the wood so violently that the drill bit jams solid into the wood and stops turning, the drill then continues to rotate almost breaking your wrist.
You end up having to stop the drill and reverse it to unjam the bit before starting again. Because of this stop start drilling it takes much longer to drill the hole than it would with a conventional auger.

I found the breakout with this bit to be worse than with a conventional auger and the way it digs into the wood you are much more likely to damage the surface of the work piece or yourself due to losing control of the drill.

After drilling 6 holes varying the amount of pressure in an attempt to make the bit work it still dug in violently every time.

I gave it to a friend to try just in case it was something to do with my drill or the way I was using it and it was just the same for him.

Slower than a conventional auger, dangerous to your work and wrists. This is definitely one to avoid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Strong Good Product, 29 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use these to attach name badges to clothing. They hold firm even through a thick padded jacket or a wool coat.

For the notice board, one magnet will hold 15 sheets of 80gsm A4 paper without slipping. It can hold 18 sheets but it slowly slips down especially if there is a draft nearby.

Interestingly, two magnets together will hold 22 sheets without slipping so not double the amount. If you want to hold more than 15 sheets then you would be better with a thicker magnet rather than 2 thin ones together.

The finish on the magnets is bright and smooth, they are a chrome colour which actually looks better than the magnet in the picture.

I’ve seen reviews saying that these type of magnets can break easily but I’ve not had that problem. They do snap together very strongly when brought together but no breakages so far.

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I was expecting too much after reading other reviews, 14 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Picture quality is atrocious, not even as good as my 20 year old standard definition camcorder.

If the room is not brightly lit the videos are too dark to view. Even with decent lighting there is no detail in the light and dark areas. The picture is grainy and colours are dull. A bright blue sky appears white in the video.

However I bought this as a cheap camcorder for small children to record and view their own videos.

Unfortunately viewing video and images on the screen is overcomplicated. There isn't a dedicated playback button so you need to enter the menu, select "My Works" select "video" or "Picture" and select the clip or image you want to play then press ok. It's the least intuitive user interface I have ever seen and is in no way easy to use.

Another problem is that the flash is positioned in such a way that it gets covered with your fingers, even small children's fingers would completely cover it.

The final problem is that mine (bought from savvybuys2) contravened safety regulations by not having a 3 pin UK plug. It had a built in 2 pin USA plug and a 2 pin euro adaptor.

Additionally the euro adaptor was dangerous in that it was not securely connected to the charger. This would make it possible to unplug the charger whilst leaving the adaptor plugged into a socket causing risk of electrocution due to exposed live terminals.

Not recomended even at £30

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly with BT infinity and much better range and stability than the HomeHub4, 13 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My house has solid brick walls throughout and very thick solid wood floors. Previously with the BT HH4 my wireless printers would take ages to print or refuse to work, streaming HD media on the TVs would judder and my iPhone would regularly lose connection in the bedrooms and garden.

With the Asus Router there are no such problems, my iPhone is getting 2 bars where the HH4 was out of range and speeds of between 30 and 60Mbps depending on my location in the house/ garden despite the area being flooded with wireless signals from neighbouring properties. The HH4 never gave speeds of more than 35Mbps even at close range.

Another reviewer said the Quick start wizard didn't work with BT infinity but I had no problems.
Just followed the instructions as follows:
1. Plug the Assus router into the mains and turn on
2. Use the bundled Network cable to connect your computer to a LAN port on the router
3. When the LAN LED starts to blink use the network cable that came with your BT modem to connect it to the WAN port on the Asus router.
4. Open your web browser and follow the instructions

The quickstart wizard then asked me to enter the Routers 6 digit pin from its label, it then automatically detected my BT infinity and asked for a username and password.

As with any Non BT router the BT Infinity username you need to enter is bthomehub@btbroadband.com
A password is not needed for BT infinity but the Assus router does not support blank passwords so you can type anything into the password field e.g. "password", "Blank" or just a single letter.

When changing settings such as admin password and wireless key which most people will want to do, I found this router to have one of the best laid out interfaces I have seen by far. Everything is easy to find and straightforward.

When on its stand It is a fair bit taller than the BT HH4 especially with the 20cm antennas but I put this down to it being designed to work well rather than designed to fit through a letterbox.

The USB2 ports are ok for connecting a hard drive to but the transfer speed is a bit slow when you are used to USB3 however Asus make an app called AiCloud for iPhone and Android which lets you access the hard drive via a built in VPN from anywhere which is a useful feature to me.

No dropouts or lost connections after 3 weeks use so I would definitely recommend.
