5.0 out of 5 stars Well I Loved it, 17 Sept. 2007
Yes Jaspers back again another madcap story that wanders all over the place but what the hell it was entertaining stuff,I have loved all of the previous books and this is no exception witty, sarcastic, its all there except Miss Haversham who I adored, its well worth the money and will justify a few re reads,a pity about pepys fiasco it sounds a hoot,ah well, oh and does goliath remind anyone of Sky.

5.0 out of 5 stars every ones a winner, 16 Mar. 2007
This review is from: The Visitors (Audio CD)
Have owned this for ages on all formats but the C D is worth every penny for the amazing The Day Before You Came, yes indeed the 2 B's wrote some really great stuff for which they never ever got the credit they deserved, and in the the 2 girls hands the songs were performed brilliantly, but to me that one song was the pinnacle of a great career a real heartfelt story of love and expectation, everythings been said about the darkness of the album, rightly so, but i would have paid the same price for that one track, magnificent. oh and i didn't think two for the price if one was as bad as people say.

5.0 out of 5 stars who cares about reviewers, 25 Feb. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Jane Eyre [DVD] [2006] (DVD)
I.ve just bought this DVD and read all the reviews,I just couldn't find fault with it,I dont think its as good as the book, but nothing will ever be,and lets face it you'd be hard pressed as a director or screenwriter to balls it up,as long as you keep basicly true to the novel, it really is such a great story,I thought Ruth was brilliant but I thought Ms Ginsbourg was brilliant in the recent film adaption as well,Toby Stephens did fine everyone interprets things differently and you cannot please all of the people all of the time, just enjoy it, then re read the book to see why Miss Bronte never came close to writing anything as good as this again, just as an afterthought read Jasper FFordes the Eyre Affair for a different slant on things

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 3 Feb. 2007
This review is from: Shardik (Paperback)
I can't believe that no-one hasn't written a review of this ,well I'm going to put that right, this is a powerful story of a mans destiny through his religious belief that a giant bear found fleeing from a fire is the reincarnation of god,the story portrays all of mans greed and mistaken beliefs in worshipping religion in a grippng tale of war and love and finally fulfilment,I read Watership Down first but believe me there is no comparison this is far and away better and it deserves to be a modern classic anyone reading this will be amazed and moved by the sheer power of the narrative and like me will read it more than once and find new marvels,Richard Adams best book by miles

Wintersmith (Discworld Novels)
Wintersmith (Discworld Novels)
by Terry Pratchett
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars so what, 29 Oct. 2006
A huge Pratchett fan have read them all and yes not all are Great not all are Hilarious but so what, the very fact that I have read and enjoyed all of them must say a lot for the greatness of the author,A Hat Full of Sky was superb and on first reading Wintersmith was not as good, but, and this is a big but,Ive now read it 4 times and enjoyed it more and more, the characters we all know and love and the plot well it was just great, but the clincher has to be calling Granny's Kitten You, magical, this man Pratchett is a genius and can really get you involved,so dont knock it just hope that he keeps writing.I loved this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars dont know if its just me but, 14 July 2006
Well here goes ,I bought this cd after buying The Woman in White, and let me just say that I knew of the main songs through versions by Striesand and others, but I have to say that overall I thought it was rubbish,I listened to it with ever increasing disbelief, how I thought could this be so popular and still running, when in my humble opinion the much better Woman in White isnt,it is probably just me, but anyhow my cd has found a good home with someone who likes it,I didn't but still it wouldn't do for everyone to have the same tastes.if anyone did like this please try The Woman in White and be Amazed.
