1.0 out of 5 stars A good (shaped) design completely spoiled by poor electrical design / ..., 16 July 2015
We bought two of these (the second for our holiday home) and we have the same problem with both - so are assuming it is a design fault. The outside elements are much hotter than the inside elements meaning that the toast is cooked on one side and under done on the other. The only way around this has been to reduce the setting and turn the slices half way through. This defeats the point of a toaster!

A good (shaped) design completely spoiled by poor electrical design / construction.

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Obviously the author has a pretty vague notion of where the Dordogne is. We live in the area and were very disappointed to find the book only covers half the region (no Périgord blanc or vert) and includes walks that aren't even in the Dordogne but are two hours away!!. Save your money - use this site: http://www.dordogne-perigord-tourisme.fr/fr/randonnee-pedestre-309.htm which has maps of every walking route in the region all of which are way marked with posts and signs.

Israeli Apartheid: A Beginner's Guide

5.0 out of 5 stars Other reviews, 9 May 2012
Having read the book, read the other reviews on the book, spent time in Israel and living and working in a refugee camp in the West Bank, I found Ben's analysis to be concise and factual. I think many of the negative reviews say more about the personal opinions (and the unwillingness to face reality) of the reviewer. Sadly, even with the 67 green line, Israel is a racist and apartheid state. It systematically breaches both international law and Geneva Conventions while the world turns a blind eye.

5.0 out of 5 stars Traditional use, 13 Feb. 2012
Za'atar is a traditional component of a Palestinian breakfast. Warm soft pita bread is dipped in good quality olive oil and then in Za'atar - delicious! Especially when served with fresh tomatoes, olives, haloumi style cheese, fried egg / potatoes and hot Arab / Bedouin tea (made with black tea, Maramia (dried sage) and lots of sugar).

1.0 out of 5 stars So biased it was offensive, 3 Dec. 2010
I am in accord with pretty much everyone else on here. The book is so biased towards the US it is offensive. In addition, having been to the beaches and museums in Normandy it is factually incorrect and misleading in many places. It plays down major failings by the US and dismisses the heroism and successes of the non US allies. Having (British) relatives who were involved in the D Day landing I was disgusted at the way their role was portrayed.

Give it a miss.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hopeless - don't buy, 8 Mar. 2010
I would agree with others - the anti calc doesn't work so it spits brown muck all over your clean laundry. I am sick of having to rewash stuff. I would never buy another one or recommend it to anyone else.
