A very clever book and one that has the feel of the period. Accurate language slips occasionally---author should learn when to use might rather than may---but the position of women is well portrayed and the characters are interesting if not entirely credible. I'll be happy when her new book comes out!
The Lady Grace Mysteries: Decption displays brilliant writing; great immediacy and empathy; exciting and full of suspence. The period is validly evoked. Very instructive and it's a real page-turner. I read it till 3.00 a.m.
