5.0 out of 5 stars vinyl edition is sublime!, 12 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I won't go on about how much the music itself is incredible (btw, it is!)....
I wanted to specifically mention that the vinyl version of this is FANTASTIC. heavyweight vinyl, production quality is excellent, nice artwork/images. definitely worth getting on vinyl (you get a free downloadable version with it anyway) - don't fear investing the extra cash for a crap quality vinyl rip of a low-fi digi file, this is the real deal.
buy it, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars vinyl quality is fantastic, music too, 14 April 2014

its hit or miss with vinyl, never really know if its going to be of a high production quality on the vinyl version (which is the whole point of vinyl isnt it!) and this one is definitely a HIT. sound stage is huge, recorded beautifully, such a pleasure to listen to.

you also get a downloadable version of the vinyl album - not just a digital rip from the CD version. its actually recorded from the vinyl version - you can hear the needle drop if you pay attention! really fantastic bonus I wasn't expecting.

the content (music) is also brilliant IMO, but won't repeat others views on the content.

4.0 out of 5 stars good quality, pleasure to use, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
arrived and was very impressed with the quality - the gold pattern is stitched into the fabric rather than printed (which I thought from looking at the pictures), pleasant surprise. size is spot on and there's enough stuffing to make it weighty enough to stay on your face. smell is nice. also really like the fact that there's an outer shell which can be washed, and also if i want to swap the insides for something different it'll be a cinch. happy customer

3.0 out of 5 stars good album, vinyl is of poor recording quality, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Bends [12" VINYL] (Vinyl)
the album itself is good - bit more "commercial" than their other stuff but still some fantastic tracks.

the production quality on the vinyl copy however is pretty flat and lifeless. It sounds like its been compressed. which is the antithesis of vinyl - the reason I buy/use vinyl is sound quality, and with a crap production/recording, it makes it pretty pointless to have on vinyl. shame really, as I have other albums of theirs on vinyl and none of the others are anything but sublime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, 28 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Received item on time and decently packaged. The case itself fits X10 snugly. The colour is more a true brown than a very dark brown, though personally think it works well with the black body of the camera. Nice contrast of interior colour too, being a dark camel colour. Strap seems sturdy enough; isn't all that wide so not going to be as comfortable as say a DSLR strap. However your X10 is relatively light anyway so probably wont be an issue for you (like me). Regarding quality - I've only had it a few weeks and accompanied me on a 10 day treck across america and it performed well and seems reasonably well constructed. It has a magnetic front closure (sits between the two snap closures of the back, on the bottom of the case - think this is the same as the true Fujifilm brand case) which wasn't mentioned in the description but makes opening the case for a quick shot that much quicker. The smell of the PU Leather is somewhat strong at first, though after a week disappeared and wasn't noticeable unless you gave it a good sniff close up. Lack of 5 stars is due to there being no Fujifilm stamp on the front (round section covering the lense, as shown in the pics) - there is the X10 stamp on the top but not in the front. Honestly not much of an issue to me.
If you're used to this style of case it will feel comfortable and natural to use. Don't expect to have immediate access to your battery/SD card slot (must remove case for access...shouldn't be a surprise but have seen similar reviews slating similar cases which I think is unfair) or the HDMI/micro USB slots on the side of the camera. All other controls/buttons are easily accessible.
Overall - Its good value for money, and will do the job nicely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, colour a bit off from picture, 20 Dec. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Watch is great, delivered very quickly, love the mesh band. Only thing I wanted to flag up is that the champagne colour on the face is quite a bit darker than you would expect from the picture. The darkness makes the contrast between the silver of the case and the colour of the face much greater than the picture.
Overall great watch, just wanted to mention the colour so others know what to expect.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good, but battery life suffers, 23 May 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It paired up quickly with my PX210's, delivered quickly, good sound. The purpose of posting a review was to bring up something I didn't really think about critically or see much of in the reviews, and I admit I was probably a bit nieve and wishful-thinking, but the main problem: this thing sucks all life from your iPod (or similar device)!!! I bought a brand new iPod classic, headphones and this so everything was new. I have a 3hr commute every day, and find myself having to charge up my iPod at least every other day, and sometimes in between. That equates to approx 6 hours play time with this device before my ipod gets to a point of needing a recharge. For the iPod, it has a quoted 36 hours that Apple gives us (which in my experience - I could go an entire week between charges on my old ipod with the same quoted battery life). To go from 36 hours to 6 hours is quite disheartening. I am running some songs on higher than normal bit rate, which would bring down the battery life a bit, but not this drastically. I wanted to be free from cables, but now I'm almost chained to my ipod doc or power outlet. I have run a test and can get a good 5 or 6 meters away before I start to lose signal. great, yes, but possibly this is the cause for it sucking so much power? It would have been good to have an adjustment on the device to choose the range you want to emit the signal - as its always in my shoulder bag, much beyond a meter is overkill. Maybe this is irrelevant and I'm talking nonsense from not actually knowing, but maybe not.
My only other thing regards the design - it protrudes out a good inch from the base of the iPod. I wish they would have made it wider but shorter, i.e. so that it covered the width of the base of the iPod as opposed to sticking out as far. This would mean that it is less likely to cause damage to the iPod dock socket from being bent accidentally/inadvertently.
Overall its probably a great product, I just didn't think critically about the side effects of using a device like this and wanted to forewarn others about potential pitfalls.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as expected, 23 May 2011

Long and short of it - connecting multiple devices to a computer works great, have Windows 7 machine and it paired up instantly. However if you want to connect anything like a mobile phone, iPod, or any other kit soley for the purpose of powering it up or charging the battery, forget about it. It doesn't seem to carry enough power, sometimes the device will charge but you'll barely get the battery up by 20% after a full day's charge it seems. Other times the device doesn't like being connected (in the case of my mobile) so it tries to break the connection. either way not what I was hoping out of it, only as the intention was to charge an ipod and iphone. other users may want something different out of it.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but not sure if its worth the extra cash, 22 Aug. 2010

have had this machine for about a month, and so far am pleased with the results but not overwhelmed with joy (sometimes the reviews build up a lot of hype). i've had much cheaper models that produce better tasting coffee. i think one of the issues with this machine is that it brews too quickly - flavour isn't allowed to develop quite as much as it would with a slower drip. therefore i have to put in more coffee grounds to compensate for the fast brew. the design on the outside is nice. the light on the clock only lights up when its brewing and maintaining heat (2 hours after brew it shuts off automatically). the buttons are very plasticky. one other gripe, if i may, is the size of the holes for the water reservoir. will never understand why the designers do this, but this machine has very small holes into which you pour the water. while the jug itself does somehow seem to not drip as others have said, it doesn't matter if you're trying to aim a spout of water and your target is only a few cm wide. i've gotten used to it now, but still don't understand why manufacturers make them this way. i do acknowledge that its the cheapest model out there that has a timer, which is a nice feature for a budget machine. overall, while it makes a decent cup o' jo, its not all that you'd expect and they seem to have made some shortcuts in design/production which cause you to, in my opinion, work harder than you should have to.

4.0 out of 5 stars great product compared to higher priced equivalents, 22 Aug. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
ordered two chairs which arrived quickly and in good order. first impression - better than expected. the chair itself is very comfortable. my partner and i are relatively tall (6ft+), so i was concerned they may not be all that comfortable, but they work - the seat of the chair especially is quite deep. the construction seems sturdy. it is not ultra-compact when it folds down, but sufficient enough. other reviews ive seen say that you need to lock the chair quite hard so that it doesnt move - i've found the opposite - it isn't the easiest to change positions when you're in the chair. but when you're fully reclined, no need to as you're out cold within a few minutes because its so comfy! and yes, you can recline fully (something i wasn't clear on before i bought them, so thought i'd mention). the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars was that i've sat in similar, higher end models where the arm rests have a plush covering on them, which is a nice feature. the arm rests here are solid plastic and although not bad, just not quite as 'luxurious' as the high end ones. but, very minor detail as on the whole, very comfy and does the job, and good value for money.
