The Photoshop Workbook: Professional Retouching and Compositing Tips, Tricks, and Techniques
The Photoshop Workbook: Professional Retouching and Compositing Tips, Tricks, and Techniques

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to follow and very helpful., 30 Mar. 2015

An excellent, easy to follow workbook. Making composites in photoshop is something I've always avoided simply because I've never been any good at it but I've been inspired by many examples of 'digital art' photography and found this book to be a doorway into that world. It's not a book for absolute beginners as it assumes that the reader knows his/her way around photoshop. You can probably trawl the internet to find equivalent tutorials similar to those found in this book but the workflow within is excellent and there is a progression of techniques as you go through each chapter.

All in all an excellent book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very good., 27 Feb. 2013

I found this more about the author showing off her work than a guide. Most of the pictures are inspiring and excellent but not a very helpful book.

The capacity of this bag is excellent. I keep my laptop, graphics tablet, external hard drive etc. in here and there is still room for the kitchen sink. Loads of pockets and a good solid handle. My only small gripe is that it doesn't stand up too well.

I find these work really well len and leave the lens streak free. The brush end is also useful for using first to prevent rubbing any particles into the lens with the pad and risk a scratch. They're small enough to fit in your pocket and forget about them until you need them.

1.0 out of 5 stars No good in a shower tray., 27 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This will not stick to the base of my shower tray because of the non-slip dimples so I can't use it as intended. I now stick to one end of the bath and use it that way but it renders the shower gel holes in the top useless when used this way.

I got fed up of needing a third hand to lift the back end of my bike off the floor whilst trying to turn the pedals and change gear. It is very heavy but in a reassuring way and it does fold down just be carefull when you do as you can risk breaking a finger because the legs are heavy.

The monitor itself is very good but the comfort cuff is a bit hit and miss so I find it gives inconsistent results that are higher than what my doctor measures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on., 27 Feb. 2013

Scott Kelby's method of teaching is spot on. Whilst his 'Americanisms' may not be for some, I find it east to follow. It's not too in-depth on theory it's more of a 'do this to get this' approach which I find good.

The step by step techniques are easy to follow but they do assume that the reader has some knowledge of Photoshop. The results really do work without the end result looking too fake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super bright and great price., 15 Nov. 2012
This is all the light you will ever need on the rear of your bike. Extremely bright, 3 modes (constant and 2 flashing modes). Easy to fix bracket and the light unclips from it to allow you to remove the light without unscrewing the bracket.

Don't look at it to see how bright it is!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent., 15 Nov. 2012
I bought this for my son's bike as I wanted something decent but didn't to pay too much as he only wanted it for occasional use. The brightness is incredible with a beam that really does allow you to see far into the distance. I have a Magicshine MJ-872 light that cost three times amount and although that this isn't as refined it certainly shines further into the distance.

The light spread is fairly narrow but certainly not pencil thin as others have described it. Great battery life even at full power. It only has two levels of intensity and a further flashing mode which is pretty useless as it is too bright to be anything other than distracting. It may be a bit of overkill for commuting but for trail riding in total darkness it is excellent.

When my son isn't using this I "borrow" it and use it combination with the Magicshine for a great combination of light spread and beam distance.

And excellent buy but shop around as I picked one up for £28.
