5.0 out of 5 stars 11 minutes of heaven, 17 Mar 2014
This review is from: INSEPARABLE (Amazon Instant Video)
For being so painfully short and featuring almost no dialog, this is an incredibly powerful little film. In truth, the story needs no dialog as you can watch the entire thing play out on the beautifully expressive faces of Benedict Cumberbatch, Nathalie Press, and Benedict Cumberbatch again. The cinematography is minimal and there isn't a single thing to distract from the unfolding story. Poignant to a fault. Have tissues handy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, 17 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not really any longer than in the film but with an ending, at least. Quite a sweet, simple song, and Cumberbatch has a clear, credible voice (is there anything that boy cannot do?)

Possibly the best 59p spent ever.

Herbaceous
Herbaceous

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful primer on a good number of herbs, 24 Jun 2012
This review is from: Herbaceous (Paperback)
This is a lovely book with very good if not comprehensive information on culinary herbs. Each herb is introduced with information on use and cultivation, plus a recipe or two. All the most popular herbs are included along with more obscure ones which will appear in recipes and about which you may need a bit of background. More could have been said about harvesting - I'm always unsure if you should collect whole stems, just leaves, how much will grow back, etc. But well worth having alongside your cookbooks for reference.

Having been disappointed with inexpensive page protectors in the past, I was delighted to receive these, which are a very good value and a good weight and easy to use.

Cradle to Cradle. Remaking the Way We Make Things
Cradle to Cradle. Remaking the Way We Make Things
by Michael Braungart
Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.29

5.0 out of 5 stars Paradigm-shattering, 23 May 2009
This book should be required reading for everyone living on this planet! The ideas it presents about continuing an acceptable lifestyle without sacrificing the Earth is unlike anything I've ever encountered.

The book is a remarkably quick read, in some small part down to some repetition of the message, and should be viewed as a jumping-off point, not a how-to manual. I can only hope that book is coming soon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for all levels, 28 Dec 2008
Bead & Wire Art Jewelry is an excellent source of design and technical advice for jewelers of all levels. Designs are adaptable to suit the beads you wish to use, and variations are shown on most designs. There will be projects to suit all tastes, and the techniques are shown in good detail at the start of the book. Specialist tools are needed, but the projects do not require you to seek out unusual findings.

An ideal book for the jewelry-maker's library, serving as manual for techniques and infinite inspiration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and sturdy, 6 Aug 2008
We purchased this entertainment unit some months ago and have been absolutely pleased. It is beautiful and sturdy (no sagging shelves here) and houses all our electricals perfectly. Apparently it is easy to assemble as well, as my husband did it in no time!

5.0 out of 5 stars World's second most perfect film, 6 Aug 2008
This review is from: Flushed Away [DVD] (DVD)
I don't wish to repeat all the astute observations given by the other reviewers. This is indeed an hilarious film, appropriate for all ages, expertly voiced by one of the finest lineups of actors I've seen in an animated adventure.

Three reasons to see this film:
(1) singing slugs;
(2) frog mime;
(3) the rest of the film.

I consider this to be the world's second most perfect film. Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is still number one. But then, Were-Rabbit has Wallace and Gromit, and was hand-animated. Let's consider this a *close* second.

This is a great DVD player which has performed well on all but the scratchiest discs. The USB function has also worked flawlessly. Very good machine for the price.

The Big Book of Killer Su Doku
The Big Book of Killer Su Doku

5.0 out of 5 stars Best killer su doku book start to finish, 21 May 2007
I have tried a number of su doku and killer su doku books and I find they let me down on the final pages - I don't agree philosophically with "branching," which is just guessing, when you get down to it. This book was a winner from the light-entertainment easy puzzles to the seriously challenging but eventually very doable hard puzzles.

Not only do I recommend this book to any puzzle fan, I am buying a second copy for my dad! If you enjoy su doku, try killer - you'll never go back.
