We thoroughly enjoyed this film, amused us immensely. Might have helped in that we are of a similar age to the two main protagonists and could at times see something of ourselves and/or friends in their characters.

We loved this film, strong storyline, great acting, technically well put together and far from dull.

Another incarnation of the usual preposterous crap about evil spirits and possession, a film for the gullible. Moderately entertaining and fairly competently put together but don't expect too much of this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amusing Take On Life, 12 July 2014
I generally avoid anything associated with Woody Allen I find the man and his films irritating beyond belief, after watching this film though I will have to reappraise my standpoint, this film is a cracker. Very amusing from the off and never becomes dull or boring. All the actors deliver and the film is well made with a clear soundtrack for once. We loved it, expect most other people would too.

Well made film with a gripping story that touches the heart.
A pity this can't be on every school syllabus.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slow As Wood, 11 July 2014
This review is from: The Invisible Woman (Blu-ray)
True to the spirit of Dickens, this film makes a good job of describing the background, the setting, the people, etc etc, but, like Dickens' work it is a long wait to get into the story in any depth, wore me out, and, I gave up watching after 50 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, 4 July 2014
This review is from: Sleep Tight (Amazon Instant Video)
A very gripping drama that has some nightmarish content, relieved by a spot of dark humour here and there.
The film manages to present a psychopath in such a manner that you almost want him to succeed with his twisted ambition rather than feeling sympathy for the victims.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Story, 4 July 2014
This review is from: The Railway Man (Blu-ray)
Brilliant film that quickly grips your attention and holds it through to the end.
Manages to fit in just about every human emotion, very amusing in parts, extremely tragic in others.
Shot with style and acted with precision, Colin Firth in particular is superb in his portrayal of a deeply troubled man.
Watch it, but, if you are easily moved to tears you will need the tissues handy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Starts Slow Delivers In The End., 29 Jun 2014
This review is from: Cleanskin (Amazon Instant Video)
The film gets off to a patchy start with some rubbish unconvincing acting that had me reaching for the off button, stayed with it though and I'm pleased I did, film picks up speed, becomes quite good. Has a few plot twists but not that many that the storyline becomes too far fetched or incomprehensible. Worth a watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Give It A Go!, 29 Jun 2014
This review is from: Even the Rain (DVD)
A very cleverly put together film that marries the past with the present.
Superbly shot and acted, the film feels real, almost documentary at times.
Held our interest throughout and a film well worth a look with the additional benefit that you will most likely learn something along the way.
