3.0 out of 5 stars Ergonomics not quite right...., 9 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is well made and works well enough. It's also a good weight.
Trouble is, to my normal sized male hands, it feels small, and I fear that regular use over a long time will potentially lead to the RSI known as carpal tunnel syndrome - which is an excruciatingly painful condition.
This mouse is probably perfectly good for those with smaller hands - ie women and children - but those with larger hands might prefer to get a more suitable mouse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deeply disappointing., 15 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I looked forward in eager anticipation to the arrival of this dvd - almost salivating at the thought of seeing and hearing the wonderful Abida Parveen. I yearned for the sound of her evocative voice giving life to some of the most beautiful and sensuous poetry. A combination almost worth selling your very soul for.

And yet when the dvd arrived, I was bitterly disappointed.

This dvd was delivered very quickly, and was keenly priced.
Sadly the sound and picture quality are nothing short of appalling.
It's not too much to say that the production quality of this dvd is an insult to both Ms Parveen and to the poets who penned the words she sings with such power and passion.

It seems to me that the producers of this dvd have simply downloaded a number of poor quality youtube videos and then committed them to the dvd exactly as they were.
The result is quite simply an abomination.

If you love beauty. If you have a passion for words and music. If hot, red blood flows through your veins. If you have ever known the love of another human being, then avoid this miserable offering.

A plague on the houses of those who produced this contemptible outrage.

Good value, well written for the complete beginner.
This book is very basic - but then it doesn't pretend to be anything else. It will help you get started in C programming, but you will soon find the need for for a more comprehensive guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 23 May 2013

This kit of parts is excellent value, and was delivered very quickly.
All the parts are of high quality and would cost a great deal more if bought individually from the likes of RS etc.

The kit is ideal for anyone who wants a fairly quick and relatively painless entree into the wonderful world of the Arduino.
It is, however, let down by the abysmal documentation.
There are no instructions supplied with the kit. However there is a website where you can find pretty much all the information you need -
http://www.sainsmart.com/arduino-compatibles/sainsmart-kit-1/uno-kit/sainsmart-uno-r3-starter-kit-with-16-basic-arduino-projects.html
Problem is the website is written in pidgin English - as are most of the downloadable instruction manuals on it.
Eg these gems from the downloadable manual for the kit -

'Arduino grammar is built on the basis of C/C + +, in fact is also the basic C grammar, Arduino grammar not only put some related parameters Settings are function change, we have no need to understand his bottom, let us to know AVR micro control unit (MCU) friend can also easy to fit in...

Small LED lamp experiment is the basis of comparison of the experimental one, this time we use the motherboard comes with 13 feet of LED lights to complete the experiment, the experimental equipment we need is the Arduino which each experiment must have and USB download cable.
Accordance with the good circuit after the link above figure, you can start writing programs, and we let the small LED lights flashing. Lighting on for one second and off for one second. This program is very simple. This is Arduino own routines Blink'.

You really need to have a knowledgeable friend who can help out, or a more than rudimentary grasp of electronics, to be able to understand what's being said there - and since this kit is likely to be bought by new learners, this obviously defeats the object of the exercise.
I would suggest you buy this kit for the value of the parts, then get a decent book - I quite like '30 Arduino Projects for the Evil Genius', but there are many other good books to choose from, and there are many fine websites and tutorials online.

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful, 4 April 2013

This is an expensive tool. And, while it works, it's no substitute for a decent blowtorch - nor is it meant to be.
It's very useful when soldering near skirting boards, wallpaper or flammable substances.
If you watch the youtube video demonstrating this, it shows the tool producing a very nice clean and neat joint. I couldn't get it to produce such a clean, neat joint. The joints I made were ok, they were watertight - no dry joints - but they were not as neat as the ones on the video.
This should be seen as an addition to - not a replacement for - a decent blowtorch.
There are 2 versions of this tool. One has 230watt elements, the other has 120watt elements. Get the 230watt 'Professional' version. The 120watt tool is not powerful enough to heat the joint in a reasonable time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissappointing, 4 April 2013

This review is from: Jump Britain [DVD] (DVD)
A lot of this DVD is concerned with the story of parkour and it's practitioners. That's not what I wanted.
What I wanted was to see was parkour in action, to watch the breathtaking, exciting and sometimes a little foolhardy actions of Sebastion and his followers.
Sadly only about half of the dvd showed them in action. And, while the bits that were shown were wonderful to see, I felt shortchanged because there was so little of it on the dvd.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deeply dissappointing, 3 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the first time I have been unhappy with a D-Link product, and I've bought and used dozens of their devices both at home and at work.
This hub is not cheap, but I bought it on the strength of my previous - generally positive - experiences with D-Link products. However, like other reviewers on here, I have found this to be a flawed device, of questionable quality and value.
The hub does not always work as it should - the 2 powered ports in particular seem to work only when they feel like it - and it needs to be reset far too often.
Also one of the ports now has a broken middle and so is unusable - it wasn't abused or mishandled in any way, but simply snapped off when I tried to plug my phone charger into it.
Given the high cost of the hub, and generally good reputation of the maker, this isn't acceptable. D-Link need to sort themselves out.
