Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver For Windows (Xbox 360)
Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver For Windows (Xbox 360)
Offered by HG Amazing Deals
Price: 23.25

5.0 out of 5 stars Well, It Works!, 16 Jan 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I was gaming with my Xbox 360 controller within 5 minutes of opening the box. Just install the drivers from the disc, sync up and you're all set. Provided drivers worked fine with Windows 7 64 bit and also Windows XP 32 bit. I recommend this product thoroughly if you have an array of Xbox accessories such as wireless controller, guitar controller, headset, etc. If you only need the Xbox controller and are worried about wasting batteries when you may want to check out a wired controller instead, however it is more expensive.

Pros:
- Easy to set up
- Wide range of games which support it (and if they don't download Xpadder)

Cons:
- None!

Conclusion: A very good buy if you have Xbox accessories for a modest price. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amelie - Amazing, 16 Jan 2011
This review is from: Amelie [DVD] [2001] (DVD)
This film actually got me interested in foreign films. Amelie is a perfect blend of light heartedness and thorough character depth. Audrey Tautou plays the part amazingly, you gradually appreciate the quirkeyness of her character and gain a real sense of empathy. Cinematography is absolutely amazing in this film, scenery is well thought out, and dialogue is all very relevent embedding itself into the plot. I enjoyed how this film subverted what you would usually expect from a romantic comedy which has been ever-so-butchered by Hollywood. It is hard to say much more without ruining the film really, even if you are not the biggest foreign film fan (as I was) I still strongly recommend you see this film right away. I guarantee it will stick on your mind for a long while!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Practical, 16 Jan 2011
I wasn't expecting much from this tripod based on the price, I just needed something to take a few family pictures with. However as soon as I opened the carrying case (which is a very nice addition) and felt the tripod I immediately noticed the high quality build. It looks plastic and weak in the Amazon picture which is why I was so shocked. The body is made of sturdy metal but at the same time it is quite lightweight. The head can be detached with a simple release lock so you can remove your camera from the tripod and shoot by hand within seconds. It had no trouble handling a 70-300mm lens which I was afraid of, however if you have a heavy lens you can always put extra weights with the provided hood for extra stability. Adjusting the angle and height is extremely easy to do which is very important when needing to set up a quick shot.

Pros:
- Quality build
- Free carrying case
- Easy release latch
- Extra weight hook
- Cheap!

Cons:
- May have some trouble handling really heavy lenses without the need of weights

Conclusion: An extremely affordable tripod made of quality material, I expect it to last a long time. Recommended.

Transcend 8GB Premium SDHC Class 10 Memory Card
Transcend 8GB Premium SDHC Class 10 Memory Card
Offered by mopodo-uk
Price: 5.40

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value!, 16 Jan 2011
I decided to go for this memory card for my new DSLR, being class 10, I knew it could handle HD video well. I sure was right, I have had no issue with this card as of yet, 60 frames per second full HD movie records perfectly without hitch. Stills are also fast and are quickly processed. I did have the chance to compare this card with a friend's class 2 card, I couldn't see that much of a difference apart from how quick this card processes stills. However this card is actually cheaper than what he paid for his.

Pros:
- An extremely fast card
- Best value out there

Cons:
None!

Conclusion: If you're looking for a speedy card which won't cost an arm and leg then this is for you. Buy it!

Creative EP-630 Noise Isolating Earphones (Black)
Creative EP-630 Noise Isolating Earphones (Black)

5.0 out of 5 stars Affordable quality headphones, 24 Oct 2010
If you're looking for a pair of cheap, good sounding isolating headphones then these are for you. They come with three different ends so if you have small or big ear canals they are catered for. The isolation is pretty good, I am able to get rid of most ambient noise while walking at around 60-70 per cent volume on my iPod Touch. Obviously at this price you aren't going to get blown away by the sound quality (unless you've been using the bundled iPod headphones! Which if you are, please, please upgrade). Both bass and treble aren't too clear so you'll find when listening to music it's a tiny bit harder than higher quality headphones to distinguish between vocals and instruments. The wire is made of a cheap plastic which seems easy to rip so make sure that you keep these somewhere safe when not being used.

Pros:
- Very cheap for what you get.
- Audio quality far surpasses competitors.
- Good isolation for walking and such.
- Differently sized heads cater for everyone.
- Came in a small plastic bag, no unnecessary packaging.

Cons:
- Audio quality is a bit muddled but what can you expect for this price.
- Wire is made from cheap material.

Conclusion: Very decently priced, I would rate them 4 1/2 stars because of the cheap wires and the muddled audio (although I am used to higher end headphones so the usual user probably won't notice much difference). Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars An epic addition to the Halo series, 18 Sep 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Having loved Halo 3, and being slightly let down with ODST, I was happy when Reach was announced for release. The campaign of this game is superior to Halo 3's in my opinion, the more open environments are a nice addition too. Voice acting is well thought through and some of the cut scenes are amazing to watch. The campaign will keep you occupied for a good while and it is very fun to come back to and play through again on co-op with friends.

Now onto the online (which is probably the most important reason why people buy it). Matchmaking is similar to Halo 3's, and being such some may get frustrated at the time it takes to get into a game. When in a game, as with all the Halo games when a team player quits then you are left a man down. This can get frustrating if it ends up being 8 vs 6 or whatever and I have noticed that in some games when a player leaves it freezes the game for up to 30 seconds, but that may be fixed soon.
Onto the actual online itself, over all it's very well designed. The whole weapon system has been changed and in most game types you will choose a 'loadout' by pressing X before spawning. These 'loadouts' includes different weapons and special abilities. This is a nice addition as when playing on large maps, you can easily spawn with a battle rifle and on a small map a assault rifle, etc. The special abilities are a nice addition too such as armour lock which makes you invincible by keeping yourself 'locked' to the floor. This can make some amusing scenarios such as when I used it while a ghost was about to hit me, the ghost got completed destroyed. The game feels very different to Halo 3, which is good I guess as it is after all a different game. Those used to the Halo 3 tactic 'shoot until close, then melee' may be surprised as Reach has made it a lot more easier to take out your enemy from a distance. The maps are well designed and all the game modes, in particular 'Invasion' is a joy to play.

Pros:
- Extremely fun and lengthy story.
- Online gameplay keeps the Halo standards up with ease.
- Graphics have been vamped up and environments such as water are amazing.
- Keeps all the good parts from Halo 3 e.g. theatre mode.
- Armour customisation is a nice addition.

Cons:
- Some may be shocked how different it is to Halo 3.
- There are some online issues still.

Conclusion: A wonderful addition to the Halo series which exceeded my expectations greatly, those looking for a good single player campaign or a action packed online mode will be happy.

Kodak Zx1 High Definition Pocket Video Camera - Black
Kodak Zx1 High Definition Pocket Video Camera - Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Best For The Price, 11 Aug 2010
To put it simple, you won't find anything better at this price. The camera itself feels sturdy and hard with a nice brushed texture, due to this you will be able to give it a few bashes if you are filming in a rough situation (i.e. biking). The ports are all covered with a rubber flap which is a nice feature as you wont get any dirt in there and protects it from water. As for the actual quality of the videos in general it performs well. When outside it performs best, the colours are vibrant and the 60fps mode picks up fast movement well. It is especially good when played on a tripod or held still outside as movement does tend to decrease quality slightly. When inside it performs averagely, you will notice a lot of grain and loss of detail so if you are planning on buying a camcorder for inside filming, it may be better to look elsewhere.

Pros:
- Great performance outside and when static
- Extremely cheap for what you get
- Strong build, is sports proof
- 60fps mode performs well

Cons:
- Average performance when inside
- When moving the camera sharply you get a lot of quality loss

Summary: A wonderfully priced camcorder which performs very well outside i.e. nature shots which blows a lot of higher end products out of the water. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good For Running, Average Sound Quality, 26 July 2010
I bought these headphones for the occasional jog and so far they have worked perfectly. I have fairly small ears which these headphones snuggly shaped around so if you have large ears there may be a chance this product will be uncomfortable. Some other reviewers reported looseness but so far even when running they have stayed tightly fitted. The audio quality is pretty average, at best it's similar to the iPod bundled headphones so don't be expecting too much on that end.

Pros:
- Brilliant for jogging
- Comfortable design

Cons:
- Average sound quality
- May fall off for some

Conclusion: Buy these headphones if you intend on going running with them, if not, these headphones are pretty average in sound quality so you may want to look elsewhere. Recommended.

Swatch Unisex Red Sunday Black Dial and Leather Strap Watch

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Watch, 24 July 2010
When I first saw the Swatch range I thought they were overpriced for such simple designs but I took the risk and bought this watch.

The picture really does not do it justice, when I opened the nice little box (which would be perfect to give as a gift) and held it in my hands, I could feel the uppermost quality immediately. The main body although being made out of plastic, has a smooth texture but at the same time feels like it can take a few drops. The leather strap is also good quality and fits perfectly. As well as the general time telling hands, you also get the date and day of the week which is a really nice addition. As the name says, the 'Sunday' or 'sun' is red while every other day of the week is white hence the name 'Red Sunday'. There is a audible 'tick' to this watch, however it's very light and can only be heard in a dead silent room. Another reviewer said that it is best suited for children or women but I would say the opposite. This watch would go best with smart/suit wear but can also pass off as a casual watch due to the informal looking numerals. Anyway I guess it's personal opinion to when this watch looks best, but I would say it could suit anyone despite age or gender.

Pros:
- Quality watch, comes with a 2 year warranty.
- Leather strap is genuine and comfortable.
- Date/day teller is very useful.

Cons:
- Tick may annoy some, although it is quieter than most watches.
- Haven't had any problems yet but it may be easily prone to scratches.

Conclusion: A lovely made watch which looks good with any attire.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Really Strong, 22 July 2010
This review is from: Gorilla Tape 11m (DIY & Tools)
This tape simply put is the strongest tape I've ever used. I bought it to fix a hinge problem on my computer and it's still hanging on there as strong as when I put it down. If you're looking for a stronger alternative to duck tape this is by far the best product for it (although slightly more expensive). I will definitely be buying some more when I run out. Recommended.
