5.0 out of 5 stars no more lost pencil cases, 29 Aug 2012
This review is from: Personalised Pencil Case (Misc.)
After my son lost his pencil case on his 1st day at High School I was looking for a "grown up" style of pencil case - this didn't disappoint - I ordered this late on a Friday afternoon and it arrived in the post on the Monday morning - lightening fast despite it being a bank holiday weekend. My son loves the item - as does my daughter who loved browsing through the product booklet and picked the colour she wants.

Lovely hard wearing high quality item that is built to last and should my son have the misfortune to leave it behind in a class it will find its way back to him as his name is clearly embroidered on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for all mucky pups, 23 Feb 2011
This review is from: Oster Paw Cleaner (Misc.)
I recieved this item as a gift as its tufts resemble the breed we own and have to say we are delighted with it, use dry when they come inside to effectively remove mud from not only paws and lower legs (the paw plunger is unsuitable for my breed) but also the stomach on shorter coated dogs, but use wet without the handle during bath times for a deep clean, having a non shedding breed I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the electrostatic brush inside the handle which it says can be used to groom a dog to reduce shedding and also be used on upholstery to remove lint. A nice practical solution to a perenial problem of muddy paws, keep this behing the front door or even in the boot of the car to clean off the mud before it dries into the coat.
No more tubs of water at the front door and the dogs just love presenting their paws to be hugged clean.

Jesus' Christmas Party
Jesus' Christmas Party

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Round the Back" view of the Nativity, 22 Dec 2010
This review is from: Jesus' Christmas Party (Paperback)
We stumbled across this wonderful book at the library when my youngest was in playgroup, now almost 7 she still loves this book and was thrilled to recieve it for Christmas last year, a fantastic book for reading aloud by all ages, once read never forgotten and a joy for young and old, the Innkeeper is the star of this book and he has to deal with all the visitors brought to his inn while he is trying to catch up on his sleep - inspired and a great way to introduce children to the story of the Nativity so they can discover the true meaning of Christmas.
Written by the author of Santa Needs A Wee which we discovered this week - he has a nack of firing up childrens imaginations by getting a nice moral across in the most hilarious of manners.
A wee gem of a book that is enjoyed by all ages and has become a Christmas essential in our house

5.0 out of 5 stars A perenial family favourite, 22 Oct 2010
This book is a treasure, and has been borrowed by family friends and my children's school.
It covers so many traditional British festivals some long forgotten (by current generations) some familiar - its sad to think that there are many children who think "trick or treat" and christmas are the be all and end all.
Although the book doesn't cover many traditional Scottish festivals such as "guising" which pre-dates the ghastly "trick or treat" by several hundred years or burning the clavie but these regional ommissions are forgiven as there are many just so many crafts and activities and information on many many seasonal festivals and traditions that must be retained by everyone.
Beautifully crafted book that will be treasured by all who are lucky enough to dip into it.
It wets your appetite for the other books in the series and any book that encourages you to share activities with your children gets the thumbs up in our house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant value and durability, 22 Oct 2010
A fantastic quality boot I bought a pair each for my son & daughter - the beauty is they are different from the bog standard green or black wellies the rest of their class have so no mix ups over ownership at hometime!
They arrived within days of my initial order and for the price they are extremely high quality and durable (they have stood up to being thrown in the washing machine after one particularly muddy school walk through autumn moorland)
Great value and depending how fast the kids feet grow built to last and should see them through the coming winter.
Super grips on the base will cope wonderfully with the snow and ice faced during walks to and from the village school.
I've never bought wellies through the post before but the kids are hooked on these and we shall definately be back for more.
If they can stand up to life in the muddy countryside with my two free range kids then they will stand up to anything suburbia can throw at them!

5.0 out of 5 stars The animated Short not the feature film, 25 Aug 2010
This is ONLY the short animation. Not the full length feature film of the same name (for this you need to buy the Behind the Scenes at Disney Studios DVD which I have also reviewed.
Hope this helps the above reviewer and others who may have also made this understandable mistake.
As a stand alone animated short it is a classic but the full lenght feature film of the same name combining live action, black and white and technicolour is truly the better buy

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautifully crafted slice of pure disney magic, 25 Aug 2010
This film left my son spellbound when we stumbled across it one rainy Sunday when he was 5. This is a very cleverly crafted and entertaining look behind the scenes of the disney animation studio in its heyday, Called The Reluctant Dragon it features black and white live action morphing into glorious technicolour mid way and featuring 3 disney shorts including The title Reluctant Dragon, Baby Weems, and a Goofy Short.
Seeing the life models, (an elephant)the sound effects stage creating the train scene from Dumbo, seeing the backgrounds for Bambi along with tantalizing first glipses of 3d models of Peter Pan, Pinochio and Snow White.
This is a lovely film that captures all the charm and magic of Disney from the newlybuilt lot, the documentary is entertaining for grownups but it is the spellbinding feature film that draws you back time and again.
This film deserves more recognition than it has been given over the years both as a historical documentary and as pure entertainment. A hidden gem

5.0 out of 5 stars Doggie Heaven, 23 Aug 2010
If you can get over the "yuk" factor of what they are/were these treats will become a staple part of your dog box.
We use these as special treats only given to the dogs when visitors they aren't familiar with come to the house.
The dogs relax quietly in their beds enjoying these long lasting natural chews making visits a rewarding experience for both humans and dogs.
They now greet the arrival and entrance of new people into the house via the front door by running to their treat box by the back door and waiting for their rewarding treat.
Great value pack of 25 will keep my two chewing and relaxed through a dozen weekly visits.
No hidden nasties added to this natural product and a good use of the whole animal which eases my vegetarian concious!

1.0 out of 5 stars stick to making cupcakes the old fashioned way, 15 April 2009
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Girl Gourmet Cup Cake Maker (Toy)
This item was a gift for my daughter(bought in good faith by her aunt & uncle) because she loves baking cupcakes. I had never heard of this product before she recieved it and we tried to use it. Having seen how much money it has cost them I feel compelled to write a review to warn anyone off buying this worthless item IT DOES NOT WORK the mixes are disgusting and a total rip off.

How disappointing it was, the vanilla mix didn't cook and looked putrid (bright yellow runny and raw)even when we doubled the cooking time. The children were totally disappointed and thought they had done something wrong (they hadn't)

Thinking we would keep the monstrosity to ice our home made batches of cupcakes we were let down yet again when the stuff splurted out and made an unholy mess.

A very expensive waste of time, money and space DO NOT BUY THIS. Despite following the instructions to the letter and getting the revolting mixes to the exact consistency required I am damned if i can get the thing to produce anything that looks remotely like the photos on the box.

What should have been a fun item for the kids to use has turned out to be a massive disappointment on all counts and I am appalled to discover how much this item costs to purchase, save your money and stick to BAKING cupcakes the tried and tested way, a lot less mess and frustration.
