5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and informative., 19 Nov 2010
There are a vast number of books available on modern Wicca and very few of them actually tell you anything new or worth knowing, that hasn't already been written about. However - here's one with a difference; a book written from the inside, by a person who actually knows the rites and knows what he's talking about. This is, I suppose, a journey through the rites and rituals devised, practised and revised again, by one initiate-only coven over a period of 25 years. They cover all the usual bases, but with the difference that you know these are working rituals that have stood the test of time, used by a genuine coven and not a load of wannabees.
I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who wants a really good insight into what actually goes on in a genuine coven and also as a resource for other working covens who would like to add to their own repertoires. Go on - read the real thing!

1.0 out of 5 stars The falling apart mat, 25 Mar 2010
I was given this yoga mat for my birthday in mid January, as a yoga teacher my mats get a lot of wear, but only three weeks later it was starting to fall apart with craters appearing in the most worked areas, it is now practically impossible to use because of the uneven surface. A complete waste of money .

5.0 out of 5 stars A veritable grimoire for devotees of the Horned God., 2 Nov 2001
Covering all aspects of the Horned God, Jackson divulges a wealth of practical and theoretical lore for the modern worshipper or student. Illustrated with his own unique artwork, Jackson describes the ancient, mediaeval and modern incarnations of the God, covering His role as leader of the Wild Hunt, Lord of Knowledge, Master of the Greenwood and associated Faery lore. Throughout are presented rites and rituals for the student to attempt their own knowledge of the God and the lore of Tubal Cain is treated in depth. The real Horned One in all His glory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for anyone studying Traditional Witchcraf, 2 Nov 2001
Nigel Jackson resumes the entirety of Traditional Old Craft in this small but fascinating volume. Covering aspects such as the Witch God and Goddess, links with the Faery folk, the lore of the Toadsmen, Werewolves and Vampyres, initiation and Hallowing, this is an invaluable document for the serious student. No modern, fluffy-bunny Wicca this, but and erudite discourse on the true craft, as practised by the Wise Women and Cunning Men of yore and today. Throw out Silver Ravenwolf and read the real stuff!
