4.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids, 25 Sept. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Got a couple of these for my young boys (5 and 6) to listen to audiobook CDs before they fall asleep, one is happy with the included earphones the other uses some cheap headphones.

Both find this easy to use and make good use of it.

Pleased to find that it will charge rechargeable batteries from the included power supply as well as run from it.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This has been an excellent purchase, no discernible effect on images having attached it, and it offers valuable protection to the lens

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, easy to use, camera, 23 Aug. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This has all the features I wanted plus more that have actually proved to be useful (for example face recognition/tracking).

It is feature-packed enough to satisfy a gadget-geek like me yet easy enough to use to satisfy my wife - she has produced some very good footage of the kids with this and I have some good footage of a Vulcan bomber at an airshow!

The extensive zoom does mean that it is very easy to lose your subject if you are at full zoom and handheld.

The image stabilisation is very good and very necessary at full zoom.

All in all we are very happy with this purchase

It is what it says on the tin.

We have found this a great addition to Wii Sports Resort enabling the two player games (both competitive and cooperative) which bring another dimension to the games

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to use, 8 Jan. 2004

Simple, straight forward, easy to use gadget.
If all you want to do is control a Powerpoint (or similar) presentation without having to continually go to the computer this the gadget for you. It is basic but that is what you want. It is simple to use - plug the usb receiver in and start using it, I used it without any modification under Windows and Linux and it even made a good attempt on a Sun box.
It even has a laser pointer built in.
As good as any similar products costing considerably more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with my purchase, 8 Jan. 2004
Having searched long and hard for a DVD recorder that had everything I wanted at a price I could afford I settled on this JVC and I haven't regretted it for a moment.
It has the ability to use DVD-RAM disks so you can do "timeslip" recording (start watching the program before you have finished recording it) which is very useful as a "pause live TV" feature. It has an advantage over the Panasonic R70/75 in that it will take DVD-RW disks as well as DVD-R so I can record programs, be able to play them back on other DVD players and still reuse the disk as well as archiving the program if I wish.
The quality is excellent (even on LP mode giving you 4 hours/4.7 GB disk) and better than VHS on EP (6 hours/disk) mode.
It is very easy to catalogue the programs on the disk with editable titles, programme classification and splash screen for the index. I am very pleased with the ease of deleting adverts from the recordings with everything being done using play/pause and it allows you to preview what you will get after you have deleted the selected scenes.
The "Just" quality mode is excellent for making a recording fit into the space left on the disk - you tell it to use this and it adjusts the quality of the recording to ensure that all you have programmed fits in.
