Great book - madness that we elect ex-boarders who had to survive away from home at a young age to make our key decisions, 13 May 2014
This is a book for our time.. when banking and political structures around the world are being questioned and big changes are happening, if not now when will we ever challenge the British norm that boarding schools are to be aspired to and that they create the best leaders? Nick argues that boarding schools, their elitism and the entitlement it creates affects us all and I for one agree.
Dare to read this and question.. dare above all to feel for the children sent away and hear the voice that has been silenced in our culture that says this can't be right.. and then think about whom you want leading this country..
And if you're an ex-boarder wanting to make sense of it all, then you might want to read his earlier book, The Making of Them too.
