This book is a "must read" on so many levels. For parents or friends with a loved one with a diagnosis of an eating disorder the world can be a terrifying place. This book proves that with determination, education , love and patience there is a way through to a happy ending. Eating disorders are hugely misunderstood and yet they represent the most deadly of all mental health conditions. Statistics associated with them are bleak but Bev shows that it is possible to deal with such a scary illness. This book is well written, compelling , informative and inspirational. Best of all, it's encouraging that a full recovery is possible. Carers and sufferers need that.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last - the facts., 13 Dec. 2012

At last, a book that is evidence based and demystifies the science behind eating disorders. Too many parents waste time and energy searching for answers to the questions about what causes eating disorders, all the time plauged by guilt and confusion. This book dispels many of the myths surrounding anorexia and focuses on the science and biology in a clear and accessible way. Hats off to Carrie Arnold!
