One very happy customer, 5 Nov 2010
I have been dutifully doing my daily Kegel exercises for the past 19 years since the birth of my second child, with no discernible impact on the stress incontinence which the birth had caused. Stupidly, being one of the many women who are too embarrassed to say anything to the doctor about the problem, I had thought I was just one of the women that Kegel exercises don't help. It was frustrating as I am very active (running, cycling and playing tennis) and running in particular caused problems. However, searching on the internet recently I came across the reference to the TV program Embarrassing Bodies which had found that these 'cones' (they're more like rockets than cones) were the most effective aid in curing stress incontinence.
When I started two weeks ago, I could not hold the larger cone without any weights for more than a couple of minutes. Which was kind of reassuring because it meant I did have lots of room for improvement (to the smaller cone with 55g) and I guess also demonstrates the ineffectiveness of Kegel exercises, at least in my case. Since then I have progressed to holding the cone with 5g, 10g and now 15g of weights for twenty minutes and I am starting to notice a difference in my everyday life. While I have a long way to go, I am very optimistic that this is going to solve my difficulties.
They are very easy to use and the instruction booklet provided all the necessary information. Twenty minutes a day is a very small price to achieve a stronger pelvic floor and I would recommend them to anyone who is already a sufferer with stress incontinence or who wants to protect themselves from problems later in life. A fantastic product!
Two months later ,,,,
I can only endorse my earlier comments - I am now on the smaller cone and up to 30g (I find it amazing that such tiny weights can make such a difference) and I have had no problems running or sneezing for about a month. Haven't yet tried trampolining which is the ultimate test - I might wait until I've progressed to the heaviest weight before doing so.
