Oral-B Trizone 6000 Smart Series With Bluetooth Technology Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush Powered by Braun
Oral-B Trizone 6000 Smart Series With Bluetooth Technology Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush Powered by Braun
Price: 91.39

4.0 out of 5 stars Hi-tech features may encourage your kids to brush properly!, 21 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've used Braun Oral- B electric toothbrushes for many years and I have tried a number of models ranging from basic battery powered to this multi-function rechargeable model with Bluetooth. All the models I've used have been able to use the same heads and after trying most of the range of heads I find the Floss Action suits me the best - but this TriZone style is more like a traditional toothbrush and will suit many users.

The Oral-B "thousand" range of toothbrushes each have a different number of features and the first digit of the model number refers to the number that particular model has. The features are added to the range in this order: Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Whitening, Wireless Smart and Deep Clean - so if you don't need all the features you can buy the model that has the ones you need. This model has loads of features and is pretty near the top of the range.

I mainly use the Daily Clean mode but sometimes the Gum Care - this is the first model I've had with Bluetooth so I am not sure of the results of using it yet. My dentist always compliments me on my brushing so the Braun Oral-B system obviously does it's job! I'm not sure how useful I'll find the Bluetooth features, but if you have youngish kids then the novelty and fun of using the hi-tech features could encourage them in their brushing regimes!

The different models in the range vary in price from time to time so it is worth having a look to see which is the best value at the time of purchase. I would recommend the system as a whole but if you have not used it before it may take a while to find the most suitable brush head for your own teeth. This 6000 model is a great toothbrush but only choose it above cheaper models if you think the hi-tech features will be useful to you and not just a gimmick.

Replacement Remote Control For ORBITSOUND T12V3
Replacement Remote Control For ORBITSOUND T12V3

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the soundbars original remote control, 20 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a generic remote control from the RM Series - an RMC 12166. It has all the buttons you need for controlling the Orbitsound T12V3 plus more which have no function with the soundbar. I have a few of these for other devices and they all work as they should although the layout of the buttons differs from the original remotes. They are good for replacing missing or broken remote controls but I bought this for the Orbitsound as the original is about the shoddiest remote I have seen! Have a couple of AAA batteries ready because none are provided with this product. The remote supplied is similar in style to the one illustrated - but has fewer buttons. A reasonable remote for the price and should outlast the original many times over!

4.0 out of 5 stars A light bulb from the future!, 20 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm not sure I could have ever foreseen the day when a light bulb would cost nearly eighty quid and could be controlled by a telephone - it's like living in the future! This model has an E27 full size Edison Screw fitting so make sure you have a suitable lamp-holder before purchasing (or choose the B22 for traditional UK bayonet fittings). Although this lamp is expensive the manufacturer claims a very long life for it - something like 27 years at four hours use a day, so I guess that is factored into the price.

Setting up was a little fiddly and I think I would have preferred a dedicated remote control like my Philips mood lamp uses - Wi-Fi thingies can be a bit temperamental sometimes. This is a product that is almost impossible to recommend - or otherwise; some people are going to think this is just what they are looking for and others will find it the most ridiculous thing in the world. I am gradually changing to LED lamps as old style ones need replacing, so I was glad to have the chance to try this rather strange product out. I think this may be something I will grow to love in time, and in 27 years time I will be sad when it finally expires!

So, mood lamp or light bulb - perhaps both. Value or not - I'm unsure. As an innovative product probably five stars - everything considered, maybe only three. I will compromise with four stars - but please give careful thought before purchasing at full price.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Touchscreen seals the deal!, 20 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Although there are a lot of good budget laptops at around the three hundred quid mark if your budget can run to a bit more then you may get a much better specified machine such as this Touchscreen model from HP. Although it has the Pentium N3530 rather than the i3 processor most users will not notice much difference as the N3530 is a pretty reasonable quad core model and is fine for everyday computing. You get a big hard drive at 1TB and a super-speedy 8GB of Ram - but the most interesting feature here is the Touchscreen.

I disliked Windows 8 when it was first launched, as did many other users - Microsoft listened to the complaints and with Windows 8.1 made a much better operating system. This was the first time I had used a Touchscreen with a Windows system and it does make the OS more user-friendly and you can also use it with the more traditional Windows features as well. If you are new to windows 8.1 I would definitely recommend a Touchscreen model.

This HP is very easy to set up (a little guide is included) and I was up and running within fifteen minutes of unpacking - a few personal details and your Wi-Fi code and off you go. I would recommend doing a Windows Update to get the latest software - just search for Windows Update and click, there are a lot of updates available and it took around an hour to get completely done.

The build quality is good for a model in this price range and the keyboard is reasonable - there is also a "virtual keyboard" for Touchscreen use should you prefer it. There is a good mixture of features included in this model from HP and it will suit someone looking for more than just a budget laptop - but not looking to spend a fortune for features that won't get used. It is a simple, rather understated, design which is light for portability but seems robust enough for daily use. A big-name brand, a well featured spec and a Touchscreen - it could be the model you are looking for!

NESCAFE Dolce Gusto Oblo by KRUPS Coffee Capsule Machine - White
NESCAFE Dolce Gusto Oblo by KRUPS Coffee Capsule Machine - White
Price: 89.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Taste, 17 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Nescafe Dolce Gusto pod system has been around for about eight years now and there are a growing number of machines being produced for use with the pods. The Dolce Gusto pods are not compatible with any other pod system so you need to be sure it's the system for you before committing to it.

One good thing about Dolce Gusto is the good choice of different drinks produced for it - coffees range from plain to fancy and there are many other flavours too, more choice than other pod systems. I have found the system makes coffees as near to the ones you get in coffee shops even though it uses powdered milk, rather than fresh, in many varieties. Overall it is the best pod system I have used so far, but it compliments my traditional Gaggia rather than replacing it.

There are many Dolce Gusto machines to choose from with this Oblo from Krups being one of the latest; some machines are automatic but this model is manual only. The disadvantage of this is that you have to judge the quantity of water used by eye - but an advantage is that you can easily make drinks stronger or weaker to your own taste.

The Oblo is quite a small machine so it can be easily accommodated in most kitchens, but the size means it has a small water tank which needs filling very regularly! The Oblo is well made and comes in a choice of colours - it is supplied with six pods which make four drinks, two milky (two pods required) and two black (add your own milk if required). To try other varieties you could order this Nescafe Dolce Gusto Coffee Pods Capsules COMPLETE COLLECTION 32 FLAVOURS = 44 PODS, and for everyday use these are reasonable Pack of 6 Latte Glasses - Glass Cups Mugs for Coffee or Tea - 250ml - 11cm tall.

I like the Dolce Gusto system more than other pod systems and the Krups Oblo is a good manual machine for it. I would give the system and this machine five stars - although some drinks can work out a bit expensive; nice for treating yourself!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good - not quite perfect, 13 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Philips GC8616/30 PerfectCare Aqua Iron Steam Generator is one of a range of similar irons from Philips and a look at the comparison chart Amazon has provided may give you a hand deciding which - if any - is right for you. The different models are colour-coded differently and all have some features in common and also some differences - this model is near the bottom of the range but should more than suit the average household!

We have used this iron for a few weeks and it is more than adequate for the amount of ironing we generate and is simple to use - once you work out the best place to stand the tank which is permanently connected to the iron itself. We live in a hard water area and find the Easy De-Calc a useful feature but will need to see how well it performs over a period of time - it's OK so far.

Very few people I know actually like ironing (there are a couple!!) so anything to make it less of a chore is very welcome. This iron from Philips does just that, the only minor niggle is placing the tank - a slightly longer connection between iron and tank could have allowed the tank to be placed on the floor; as it is it needs to be on the ironing-board - you get used to it after a while. Good, but not perfect, four stars.

Mustard Seed Screen Protector for Apple iPhone 5/5S
Mustard Seed Screen Protector for Apple iPhone 5/5S
Price: 7.13

4.0 out of 5 stars Easier to fit than some others, 6 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've had rather mixed results with screen-protectors over the years with some fitting relatively simply but others ending up with bubbles of air included! This "Easy Paste" from Mustard Seed is just that - very easy to fit and very clear; the fitting applicator takes all the guesswork out of positioning which has always been the trickiest bit with other models. The illustration of the back of the pack shows just how easily this protector is to fit - and it really is as easy as that!

This is by far the best screen protector I've seen so far - and although I have never really been a fan of them this one could be really useful, especially if your case is a bumper style and doesn't cover the screen. A bit more expensive than some others but should, with a little bit of care, give you a better result more easily than most.

Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter

5.0 out of 5 stars Make your old Hi-Fi wireless!, 2 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Bluetooth isn't quite as good as Apple's Airplay for wireless audio systems - Bluetooth is "lossy" whereas Airplay is "lossless" - but this adapter from Logitech is about as good as I've heard Bluetooth sound so far and is far more versatile than most Airplay systems. This little unit just plugs into your old Hi-Fi or any other powered speaker system, iPod dock etc to give them a new wireless lease of life. The adapter has both RCA Phono and 3.5mm jack inputs and comes with an interconnecting cable that has Phono plugs one end and a jack the other - so whatever inputs your audio system has by connecting the cable to it the other end will fit one or other input of the Logitech - good design and only one cable needed!

Unlike most other adapters of this type the Logitech can connect to more than one device simultaneously - should you need to! It comes supplied with a power unit - the pictures don't show it but this unit needs to be connected to the mains to work so bear that in mind if you are thinking you can use this as a portable device - you can't. This is a good-looking little device that is easy to setup and to use, and has a pretty reasonable sound quality too; not perfect Hi-Fi audio but as good a quality as you are likely to get with a Bluetooth system. Bluetooth is a radio system that needs a clear path between the adapter and playing device to work at it's best - anything in-between can cause loss of signal and poorer quality sound. Buy one of these and you'll soon be playing Spotify and Internet radio through your old Hi-Fi!

Rapesco Stapler, Stapling Plier for rapid stapling
Rapesco Stapler, Stapling Plier for rapid stapling
Offered by K Direct
Price: 10.45

5.0 out of 5 stars Ergonomic and built to last, 25 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Rapesco and Tacwise are associate companies with Tacwise producing industrial and DIY style products and Rapesco concentrating on office products. I have used a few of both company's products in the past and always found them high quality and well-designed. This hand-held stapler is no exception and should hopefully outlast Rapesco's 15 year guarantee!

Rapesco rather thoughtfully provided some Hard Wire 24/6mm staples to help me test the product and I have been busy stapling together anything that didn't move. This size of staple is good for most day to day use and can staple 2 to 20 sheets of 80gsm paper with ease. The stapler itself is a pleasure to use - it is ergonomic and fits well in the hand and is as satisfying as a Swiss army penknife or Leatherman tool when in use!

At the time of this review Amazon has this stapler for a very competitive price and one of their other sellers is almost giving it away. A very good stapler for home or office use - don't forget to order some staples with it, see Amazon's Frequently Bought Together for an example; 5000 staples for around one pound thirty. If you prefer a hand-held to a desktop style stapler then look no further - recommended. Although the description is for rapid stapling you can actually staple as slowly as you like!!

Philips Sonicare HX6511/44 EasyClean Sensitive Rechargeable Toothbrush
Philips Sonicare HX6511/44 EasyClean Sensitive Rechargeable Toothbrush
Price: 25.85

4.0 out of 5 stars A basic Sonicare handle - with just one brush head supplied!, 22 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This version of the Philips Sonicare HX6511 Easyclean model comes supplied with just one brush head - the one designed for sensitive teeth - and it only has one cleaning mode which is "Clean" - the basic mode all models have. There is a model comparison chart provided on this page which outlines some features found on this and other models - check first before deciding on this model! This is a very basic model in the Philips Sonicare range and the sensitive brush head will certainly not suit all users!

Although the Philips Sonicare is a very good system for keeping your teeth clean this model may not be your best choice unless you really need the sensitive brush head. The HX6511 handle can be used with other Philips Sonicare brush heads and it is surprising that Philips have not included at least a standard one here as well. This is quite difficult to rate because if you need a basic Sonicare Sensitive toothbrush then this is a five star product - if you are deciding on your first Sonicare model then this would only really deserve three stars from the average user. I will compromise with four stars!
