5.0 out of 5 stars Zombies with some razzle dazzle, 5 Nov 2013

A brilliant, different take on a zombie apocalypse. There's witches, old magic, epidemics and of course zombies.... My personal favourites. This story is told through the viewpoint of six main characters and it works very well. The sharpness of the chapters suits the rapid escalation of the story and I almost cried out in disbelief when the story suddenly stops. It's like the old films with a classic cliffhanger, I really can't wait to read the next part. Even though it's main protagonists are teenagers , it's by no means just a YA story. Plenty of gore to satisfy any zombie apocalypse fiction lover. If you're into PA whatever age, read this. Can highly recommend it!!

I gained is book as a freebie for my Kindle, but I would have paid money for this..... It was that good. Tons of research , graphs, maps and science by the bucketload, enough to satisfy any science loving bookworm along with a cracking story. Characters you can see vividly struggling to come to terms with what Mother Nature is throwing at them. Cannot wait for book 2 to see how things develop. This book is everything I love about the post apocalyptic genre. Can highly recommend it.

What a brilliant book. Set sometime in our worlds future, a great apocalypse has befallen Earth and the remnants of the population in part, live as people once did in the New World before the conquistadores arrived or as cannibalistic savages or still have use of tech. The story starts in a forest village during a celebration of all things that came to pass. The village is attacked and the children carried off to a distant land to be broken down and reformed in the new way of life under an Aztec like King. The story follows two main characters, Jack and Lia as they grow up and try to integrate into this new society. Things come to a head and they end up on the run into the wilderness chased by the Sons of the Temple. Along the way they meet various groups of people and finally we discover the secret of 'Alexandria'.... This is a really good example of a classic PA with shades of Logan's Run, Planet of the Apes ( without the apes) and quite a few other PA books and films. This is why I love this genre, can highly recommend it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Not an Empty story !, 24 May 2013

I really enjoyed this post apocalyptic tale. The start was totally different in that it was set 30,000 years ago during Neanderthal & Cro Magnon man times , then whipped forward to the present day to set up the apocalypse and introduce the characters. Some I must admit I thought would be boo, hiss 'baddies' but I was pleasantly surprised. A really good road trip book , gathering the characters today and with some back story. A worthy addition to my ' Apocalypse Now' shelf, definatelty a keeper. looking forward to reading more by this author if he carries on in the PA genre which I adore. I gained this book as an freebie but would have willingly paid money, its that good. If you love The Stand/ The Road etc I can highly recommend this book!!

Really enjoyed this apocalyptic fiction. A secret group engineer and release a virus to end all viruses which wipes out 98% of the worlds population. This apocalypse is seen through the eyes of teenagers, but it's not your average YA book. A creepy sadistic headmaster, Raiders, conspiracies and secrets and it comes with a twist. The 2% of survivors are not lucky, a really good twist. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I really cannot wait for book 2. Can highly recommend it

4.0 out of 5 stars Not your usual zombies, 9 April 2013

Picked this one up as a freebie, glad I did. This is not your usual zombie book with blood and gore, more Haitian voodoo zombie. The Blue Dust of the title describes the offspring of a group of 19th C shipwrecked survivors who were turned into zombies. These offspring have blue birthmarks and when they reach a certain age whether 18 or 80 their nails turn blue and they cannot die except by beheading. It has a little sweet romance, action and adventure, a very easy read.

Really enjoyed this 'What if?' novel, plenty of detail and action... A scary possibility of a 'Perfect Cyberstorm' when lots of cyber attacks all arrive at the same time and the world falls apart. The story follows a group of people trying to keep things together and survive what seems like the end of the world. Can highly recommend it !

Wow, what a brilliant book. This has got to be one of the best PA/ Dystopian novels I've ever read and believe me I have read loads.... It's one of my favourite genres along with zombies. 5 Novellas seamlessly linked so easy to read. The world building is so richly detailed you can almost smell the stink of the oil and feel the vibrations of the machinery from the deeps. Really didn't want this to end, still not long to wait for the next book, really can't wait. If you love books in the PA/Dystopian genre, get this, you will never regret it. Can highly recommend it.

Bought this on a Black Friday deal. I love Kahuna watches and this is my 3rd. Whenever I see a good deal for them, I jump at it. Well made watch. Blackish strap though, didn't mind as the blue stands out better
