1.0 out of 5 stars Work well... for a while, 13 Mar. 2014
Bought two of these as backup batteries for our D700 Nikon cameras. At first they were fine, with no noticeable difference to Nikon's own batteries. After 2 years however both have failed while the older Nikon batteries are still going strong. They currently won't charge up - the charger flashes a few times and then blanks.

... you put them on and the outside world is quieter. That's pretty much the job they were designed to do wasn't it?

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, 13 Mar. 2014

I don't think I've heard a better set of speakers, this size and at this price point. Fantastic, warm low end and crystal clear mids/highs. I have mine paired to a Rega RP1 turntable and they're a match made in heaven.

Bluetooth can be crackly if the source is any distance from the speakers but this doesn't take the sheen of an otherwise superb product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good in theory..., 1 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was looking for a light for my ensuite bathroom and the description and specs of this light appeared perfect. The reviews were fairly good too so I gave it a go.

In practical use however I've been less than happy. The most common complaint on here seems to be the power of the light - that it's not bright enough. For me that was the only thing that the light has going for it. It provides enough light for my bathroom to allow you to perform all nocturnal, essential bathroom missions without leaving a horrific mess or breaking anything. This is great.

This small benefit is outweighed by a whole host of negatives. Let's start with the two sensor functions - one turns the light off when it detects light, the other senses movement. The light sensor is best described, if I'm being polite, as schizophrenic. Sometimes it seems to realise that the bathroom light is on and other times it doesn't.

The motion sensor is worse. It doesn't detect small movements (brushing teeth etc) but only big ones. The light doesn't turn off after the stated 10 seconds but rather after approximately 4-5 seconds, so coupled with the under-sensitive sensor it's irritating as hell. When i make the occasional nocturnal visit to the bathroom I find that I have to keep one arm flailing like Pete Townsend performing his windmill strum in order to maintain the light for an acceptable aim... I bet you wished this was a video review now...

Finally, it commits the ultimate sin of LEDs... the light has a really cold blue-ish tint. It's not even daylight balanced - it's a much colder light. This might not bother some but I'm the kind of person who gets worked up into a psychopathic rage at the sight of those blue LED xmas lights. A warmer light however, would've been more pleasant.

The light was relatively inexpensive but that is the excuse of our generation that is assigned to crap tech. It was cheap, yes, but it is a poor product and someone is making thousands upon thousands selling it this rubbish.

Nikon D800 Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many MP, 3 Nov. 2013
WHY NIKON!!!! WHY 36MP?!?!?!??

Take the D610 or D4 resolution and put it in this body and you have a winner. The D700 was a swiss-army-knife of a camera while this has a much narrower appeal.

Surely a 16/24mp D800 released alongside a specialist 36mp D800e would've been a more sensible and very attractive lineup allowing wedding photographers to upgrade their aging D700s?

The only reason other photographers can give me is that Nikon don't want to cannibalize D4 sales. This is a non-excuse. If Nikon is worried about cannibalizing the D4 then that means they are putting a bigger mark-up on it than the d800 which is unscrupulous.

Between the unnecessary resolution on this camera, and the great resolution but otherwise crippled D600/610, Nikon have really dropped the ball.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm, 14 Aug. 2011
Good quality for a bike of this price. It folds but don't expect it to be able to pack away into any nooks or crannies!

The only major fault is that the seat doesn't go very low. It was ok for me but if you're shorter than 5ft 5 I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but flawed, 14 Aug. 2011
Positives: Powerful, beautiful screen and a relatively small footprint so it can fit anywhere.

Negatives: It runs VERY hot when doing any sort of intensive work - more so than the previous imacs i've owned. Apple say its normal. It WILL scrape your discs unless you have the gentle fingers of a surgeon - I've had my DVD drive replaced twice and the problem persists (google 'imac disc scratched' for more info). I've also had to have my HD replaced.

Conclusion: A stunning looking machine that is very capable but for this price I expect better build quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars INSULTING, 12 Nov. 2005
Sometimes games are released that are dissappointing. I wasn't expecting this game to be great. With sports games it usually takes a couple of incarnations before they find a winning formula but like Madden, Fifa, Pro Evo, NHL there is always some redeeming feature.... Gaelic Games football has none.
Better sports games were being produced in 1997. Play is slow and jittery. The game engine is unpredictable. The control system is illogical and takes away from the spirit of the actual sport. Graphics are poor. Player animation is unrealistic. There are no player names. The options are limited.
There are no redeeming features beyond the fairly realistic stadiums. Even the most ardent Gaelic Football fan would be lying if they said this was anything more than terrible.
As I said, I hadn't high hopes for this game but it is beyond my worst nightmares. AVOID AVOID AVOID

2.0 out of 5 stars Actually, not everyone can..., 19 Jan. 2004
... interesting interpretations of Radiohead songs that, with little exception, misses the mark a bit. The more experimental songs show little direction or forethought and the more mundane covers just draw unfortunate comparisons to the originals.
This album may have worked better if a higher standard of bands had been used. As it stands it is little more than an experimental college music project that causes as many grimaces as it draws smiles.
