2.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing really..., 22 Oct. 2009
This review is from: Ravenous [1999] [DVD] (DVD)
Well, i had high hopes for this film seeing as the actors have done some great stuff before! However, without going into too much detail, i think there were just moments of absolute frustration for me; Guy Pearce's character for example seemed to have an attitude of "hmm, should i attack this guy who's coming at me with a knife?...weeell....oh alright then". Everything was just so...LAME! There were parts i did enjoy but overall i just think it could have been a bit more definite in where it was going. Maybe that was the point though, i really couldn't tell! Worth watching once i would say, but if you're looking for a film a bit like this, but better (well, more entertaining anyway), check out Cannibal, The Musical!

2.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm, interesting..., 26 Sept. 2009
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
Well, i won't spend too much time on this review, but i guess i'll just say when i heard it i thought i was listening to something like Usher or Jay-Z. Not reeeally what i was expecting from Chris Cornell. Come on Chris, you're capable of so much better!! Don't you wanna do something rock-tastic or do some awesome acoustic-y stuff?? I'll give it a 2 star because for what it is, it's not badly produced in terms of the sounds etc. Wrong style for Chris though, i reckon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ross Noble...he's the maaaan!, 12 May 2008
Well, i have to say i've been a big Ross Noble fan ever since i bought Unrealtime. I'm pleased to say that this is also an excellent DVD! I would however say that having watched the main feature, then watching the documentary, i actually laughed more at the material in the documentary!

That's not to say the main feature isn't good, i really enjoyed it. I think perhaps for me though, i prefer watching shorter sections of his shows; also in the documentary i think he's great at just walking round places and making funny comments about them!

In conclusion i highly recommend this DVD as it's full of bonus features (another SIX extra shows included!) and will make you laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 4 Jun. 2007
This review is from: Falling Into Infinity (Audio CD)
Well, i'll be honest, this is the album that got me properly into Dream Theater. I say 'properly' because the first album i heard was Awake, which is great but quite dark sounding in parts. I found Falling Into Infinity a lot easier to listen to. As a drummer, i was hugely drawn into Mike Portnoys' drumming capabilities so for any drummer's 'Lines in The Sand' in particular is rather fantastic.

I think my favourite tracks from the album are: Lines In the Sand, Hells Kitchen, Take Away My Pan (oops that was a spelling mistake but i'll leave it in as that would make a great song!), Burning My Soul, Hollow Years, ... i'm actually just going to end up naming all the tracks if i don't stop...

So give it a listen i say.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised, 20 May 2007

Yeah i have to say, i really like this! I wasn't sure i would, but i do rather like the more melodic path they seem to have gone down. To me, particularly good tracks are Wake, Shadow of The Day, and What I've Done. It's definitely worth checking out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Yes, 17 April 2007

What an Awesome, Awesome album. Although i really enjoyed 'Heavier Things' and 'Room For Squares', there seems to be a lot more space in this album, and just a lot of thought put in, and it's freaking magical!!
