Research Made Real - A Guide for Students
Research Made Real - A Guide for Students
by Mark Walsh
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Aimed at secondary school or college level, 18 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book gives a small insight to research but not in the depths that you need for an undergraduate degree.
It would be helpful for those looking at research in a secondary school or college, but for higher awards I would look elsewhere for research method literature

Multiple Myeloma and Related Disorders (Hodder Arnold Publication)
Multiple Myeloma and Related Disorders (Hodder Arnold Publication)
by Gosta Gahrton
Edition: Hardcover
Price: 180.00

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good book, although with all books it won't have the most up to date information, 18 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have this book due to an undergraduate dissertation I am writing on the imaging of myeloma, whilst this forms a small part of the book other chapters are of suitable relevance and interest.
The book was published in 2004 so has no reference to the Salmon Durie Plus staging, but still manages to cover a number of imaging techniques and also ways in which myeloma is managed.
Considering the book is almost ten years old it is very good (as it should be with one of the authoritive authors on myeloma and Editor of this book (Durie).
If you look up some of the authors current works from this book there are amended and improved aspects.
All in all a very useful book for anyone with an interest in myeloma and associated disorders.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well made product essential for good lawn care., 18 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a well made product at a good price provided by amazon.
I needed a product that would help keep my lawn in good shape by removing moss and dead thatch to promote new shoots to help my lawn stay in good condition.
I am not dissappointed this has done wonders for my garden (I also own a scarifier, but found this better at removing moss).
I will continue using this product and would recommend it to others who care for their own lawns.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good concept let down by the picture quality, 6 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As pointed out by another reviewer there are a good number of conditions presented within this book, this is let down by the picture quality of the radiographs though. Would be much better if the pictures were improved on or printed on a gloss paper. They just look very noisy!!
Would I pay full price for the book - no I'd put it towards something better and more comprehensive like Orthopaedic Imaging by Adam Greenspan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent notebook or memoirs diary, 19 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this on the advice of a friend after having a disappointing experience with a moleskine diary and fountain pen ink.
I am using this as a memoirs diary and am not limited to a page that a planner type diary gives, at the top of each page is a dedicated place to write the date, with a contents page at the front of the notebook.
The pages are fine for use with 'proper' ink and I write with Havana brown waterman ink.
There are label stickers to use on the front and back as well as the spine when archiving the notebook.
Perforated pages at the rear of the book if you need to write an impromptu list to give someone, as well as a pocket at the rear to put in address book or anything of note.
Went for the lime green as a bit of a difference and will be purchasing another when this is full.
Still have a moleskine planner diary, but may change that to a Leuchtturm next year.
Would recommend to friends, although I know the five year five line Leuchtturm is reputed to have poor paper for fountain pen ink.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy once and be happy, 20 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great product for anyone who owns a galaxy s2.
I wanted a cover that protected my phone and was also renowned for quality.
I could of chosen to purchase cheaper inferior products but this has it all and I am very happy with it.
It comes with a screen protector so you don't have to purchase one extra, a silicon cover that then clips into a sturdy plastic cover.
Obviously it isn't going to be bomb proof, but it does me fine and holds up to a 10 month old if he gets hold of it.
I would recommend getting this rather than chancing it with other inferior products.
I also didn't pay he current price which may put people of buying it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good little book, 31 Oct 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great size book that gives a little information on the various hills you can tackle around the country.
It is slightly lacking though, I have good knowledge of my local area and would of chosen a number of different hills that would be above the ones that were included in the book itself. But that is with knowledge of the local area.
Gives an incentive to travel around the country and get them ticked.
Would be great to see a new edition put together with intial user contributions for areas, 100 could then be selected from them.
Or having a top 5/10 for each County with more details on the 5 and grid references and half a page of detail (if that) of some others.

Bones and Joints: A Guide for Students
Bones and Joints: A Guide for Students
by Chris Gunn
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for Radiography - good pre-reading for course, 11 Oct 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As is already written this book is essential reading for all those embarking on a diagnostic radiography course.
It can seem a lot to take in prior to starting the course, but I would recommend the book as pre-course reading, if you do you will find your A&P lectures a lot easier and able to take in additional information.
If you are only going to buy one book - buy this one and decide what else to buy at Uni by asking lecturers and borrowing from the library and deciding which book suits your learning style and level.

The newest edition contains radiographs so that you can look at a drawing labelled with the x ray next to it so you can see how it looks.
You will need an additional book for positioning, but overall one that you should know inside and out.

Tomaz Humar
Tomaz Humar
by Bernadette McDonald
Edition: Paperback
Price: 9.99

4.0 out of 5 stars A good reflection on what was a great climber, 14 Sep 2011
This review is from: Tomaz Humar (Paperback)
I have a host of climbing books, some of which I keep and some of which I happily get rid of after reading.
This is a book I have kept. It was a good read, not great. After his trouble on the Rupal face I purchased it.
Gives an insight to the man himself and the troubles that he often had to overcome to help achieve his dreams/ambitions.
Not without trouble as you often find with climbers, the book gives a good balance of personal life and climbing life.
Recommended for others to read. Not five stars on the fact that there are just better books ou there not on this individual but others who have achieved excellence in their own right.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for bleeding radiators periodically, 14 Sep 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well what can one write on a radiator bleed key?
This does exactly what it says it does, you can buy ones that are harder wearing and have different fittings, but for the cost you can keep a couple of these handy for the draw for when it comes time to put on your central heating and find the radiators not getting hot due to air build up.

Just remember to use inhibitor in your system and keep a towel handy just in case!
