4.0 out of 5 stars Memories of wembley 83., 27 April 2000
This review is from: Crises (Audio CD)
crise's one of Mr Oldfields better 80s albums. side 1 is mike what he does best, a long instrumental track which I was fortunate enough to see live in 83. I can still feel the shiver down my spine, side 2 contains 5 shorter songs including moonlight shadow which every one knows, but shadow on the wall featuring roger chapman is an amazing song , also jon anderson of yes sings on 'in high places'this album stands the test of time and is one mike oldfield must be proud of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music at it's best., 26 April 2000
This review is from: Five Miles Out (Audio CD)
I bought this album in 1982, when it wore out I bought the tape, now I have the cd, if you think all Mr Oldfield has done is tubular bells, have a listen to this, Taurus 2 takes up side 1 and the guitars are amazing, it's a track you can listen to over again and never get tired off, family man on side 2 was recorded by Hall & oakes, but the oldfield original is first class, orabidoo is a 13 minute song with more guitars and any one who says clapton, page, etc, are great guitarists are right, but mike oldfield is up there with them, he does not get the credit he deserves in Britain,if you don,t own an oldfield album buy this, then check out ommadawn & song's of distant earth.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great work from one musician., 26 April 2000
This review is from: Amarok (Audio CD)
Take away the maggie thatcher voice, & the 'happy' chorus & You have a faultless album, should be played loud, this is what a real musician sounds like, all the instruments are played by Mr Oldfield, his guitar playing is out of this world, and how this man has not got a mention when great guitarists are talked about is beyond me,He has made over 20 albums of real music if you buy this album as a first from Mr Oldfield I gaurantee you will want to buy more.
