1.0 out of 5 stars Worst album to date., 17 Jun 2014

This is a really boring album, I like LaMontagne a lot, but this isn't a patch on his earlier work.
There are no stand out tracks, a couple of them sound like straight rip offs from other sixties records: the rest sent me to sleep.
Avoid, and wait for a better effort next time round.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Remake!, 15 May 2014

A first class remake, widescreen, and the sound quality is excellent.
One of Audie Murphy's best westerns in my opinion.
I prefer it to the Jimmy Stewart version.

The album is excellent, but beware of buying more than one item at a time from these people.
They put two albums in one packet, with the result that I was charged over 11pounds for VAT and post office 'handling' charges.
What a rip off.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Boring Stuff, 11 Jan 2014

I really like Don Edwards, but this album is monotony on wheels.
I realise it is a collection of cattle songs, but there is so little variation, they all sound the same, world without end.
He sounds disinterested in the whole boring process.
Stick to his other albums: this one will send you to sleep.

This is without doubt, the greatest west coast jazz recording ever made.
A must for any serious jazz collector.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.

One of the greatest club recordings in jazz history, absolutely superb stuff.
No credible jazz collection should be without this brilliant music.
Buy all five albums:you won't regret it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Falling Standards, 11 Oct 2013
This review is from: Blue Highway (Audio CD)
Mark Selby's First two albums were excellent, powerful blues rock, strong songs, great hooks, and fine guitar work.
His last album fell below his usually high standard, and this, I'm afraid to say, is not an improvement.
I tried to like it, but there are far too many repetitive songs, most of them missing the ingredients necessary to make the listener pay attention.
The best track is a revamp of an old stones hit.
He has lost his way for me.
Average stuff.

2.0 out of 5 stars boring actually, 3 Aug 2013
This review is from: None The Wiser (Audio CD)
I have Chris Wood's other albums, most of them are quite good.
There are some fine lyrics on this album, but the songs themselves are not memorable, and frankly dirge like at times.
I waited in vain for a hook or a melody to lift these offerings out of the doldrums, but the moment never arrived.
Don't listen to it when you are feeling low, it could push you over the edge.
Music should be entertaining as well as lyrically sound, this is far too self indulgent for me.
Strictly for hard core fans only.

Diana Jones is without equal in her field, her voice is a wonder in itself.
All the songs are quite superb, she is one of the very best songwriters around.
I did not think she could top her last album easily, but she has done it with this.
Buy it, enjoy it, and spread the word about this remarkable talent.

A quite superb album from the best folk artist in Britain.
Why it has taken so long to release it is a mystery (it was recorded in 2006).
Every track is a gem.
Highly recommended.
