1.0 out of 5 stars Not having read the book..., 3 July 2012
This review is from: Fifty Shades of Grey (Paperback)
... I nevertheless have no qualms about giving this one a minimum rating from all I have read about it here (in any case nothing would have induced me to buy it). The main purpose of this "review" is to encourage Lazycatfish "CE Wallis" (YorK UK) to write a book of her own, her style is so great!

A Place in the Sun is a timeless classic. Roman Holiday is a wonderful oldie, with an amazingly beautiful Audrey Hepburn. To Catch a Thief - no, I wouldn't run very far to catch that one, but two magnificent films for less than the price of one? Not to be sneezed at!

This is one of the oldies I wanted to see again. It certainly can be very funny, and of course most of it (indeed doubtless all of it) is tongue in cheek, but I did find some of the grosser slapstick just too much: the "tolerance" in the title here is to make allowances for the inevitable overdoing of almost everything made in Hollywood films. But I doubt that big names like Paul Newman, Liza Minelli, Burt Reynolds, James Caan and Anne Bancroft (wow, can that lady squint!) would have put in a cameo appearance if they didn't have confidence in the film, and I would still recommend this one for a good laugh, providing you like that sort of thing...
