1.0 out of 5 stars How could this go wrong?, 6 Aug. 2015
This review is from: The Complete Collection (Audio CD)
Ok, I have not heard this but apart from Kiss You All Over this band recorded two other great Chinnichap songs; The Part of Me That Needs You Most and How Could This Go Wrong, and neither is included here! Nor do they seem to be available elsewhere. I'll wait for a proper release featuring all their Chinnichap songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pop phenomenon, 8 Sept. 2012
This package tells a wonderful story in sound and vision of pop's greatest band ever. There is nothing previously unreleased here (except for two videos), so it is clearly not meant for the fans. This is really an updated and improved version of The Definitive Collection, so if you do not have ABBA in your collection, this is a good choice.

The sticker says that it contains all their hits, which is not entirely true. ABBA was a worldwide phenomenon and they had top 10 hits with songs in various countries with songs like Nina Pretty Ballerina, Hasta Manana, Rock Me, I've Been Waiting for You and As Good as New, none of which is included here. The liner notes are not entirely accurate either. Bang-a-boomerang was actually a single in France, and Happy New Year was released in a few countries at the time.

As for the DVD, it would have been nice to include the clip for Love Isn't Easy, which has never been released. The cartoons for Happy Hawaii and Money Money Money, the royal performance of Dancing Queen and When I Kissed the Teacher could have been included as well.

The fans will still have to wait for the wonderful Just Like That to be released in its entirety, but this is a great package anyway.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mostly live recordings, 24 Feb. 2012

Truly horrible. Very disrespectful of Sony BMG. There is no warning on the cover that these are live recordings. I want my money back!

3.0 out of 5 stars A nice box, 25 Nov. 2011
I bought this for The River and Born in the USA. Those are great albums, apart from a few fillers towards the end of The River. The other albums are not very good, but it's still a nice box to have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great series, 25 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)
I love these series. This is how CDs should be packaged. It is great to have miniatures of the original sleeves. Keep up the good work, there is a lot of music waiting to be released this way. Three of the albums here are great: Kristoffersson, The Silver Tounged Devil and I, and Jesus Was a Capricorn. I am not too fond of the other two and that is why I can only give four stars. Still, a great set to own for casual fans as most of his best songs are from those three LPs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series, 25 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)
I just love these series. This is how CDs should be packaged. Great to get all those albums in miniature sleeves and with plenty of bonus tracks. The result is a nice overview of Presley's whole career. The track selection could have been slightly better though, as great tracks like Always On My Mind, The Wonder of You and An American Trilogy are not included! The fourth album was originally very weak. It has improved a lot with the bonus tracks. However, Rock-A-Hula Baby has to be the worst song Elvis ever recorded. Kiss Me Quick or Suspicion would have been better choices. I also miss Trouble, which would have been a better addition the the second album than those two Christmas songs. But these are minor complaints. This is a great set and most of the music is fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Little Bit More, 25 Nov. 2011
I like the A Little Bit More album. It is mostly good and that's what this release is getting stars from me for. There are three good songs on the otherwise messy Bankrupt album: Only Sixteen, I Got Stoned and I Missed It, and Everybody's Making it Big but Me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Smokie never made a good album, 29 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)
I have all those albums on vinyl and none of them are very good. Bright Lights and Back Alleys is the only decent one and the only one where their own songs are quite good. Otherwise, it is the songs by Chinn and Chapman, the hits, that are the best songs. I would only buy this for nostalgic reasons, but a Smokie collection without Living Next Door to Alice and Lay Back in the Arms of Someone (two of their best songs and biggest hits) is always going to miss the point. They should have been added as bonus tracks. Smokie's best albums are compilations.

This is a great series though. Keep up the good work and bring us more. How about Blondie's first five albums?

3.0 out of 5 stars A nice way to get some of the old ELO albums, 2 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)
Face the Music, A New World Record and Discovery are all good albums and make this set worth the while. On the Third Day is just boring and Time has not aged well. The bonus tracks are useless as they are mostly alternate mixes. It's a shame that Out of the Blue is not included instead of On the Third Day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Blondie's best album, 2 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Parallel Lines (Audio CD)
This is a great pop album. I would give five stars, but the bonus tracks are terrible and ruin the experience if you are not quick enough.
