An extraordinary description of how it was, and how women suffered, under the collapse of Berlin. Dispassionate and yet very moving. A valuable source of first hand observation and suffering. Well worth reading.
I bought this book because it had such good reviews on Amazon. However, I was sorely disappointed. As a previous reviewer has already pointed out, the English was appalling, with dreadful metaphors and phrases.
In my opinion, The Night Circuswas far superior, with greater atmosphere and better use of language.
