An absolute Pat Mills classic!, 26 Jan. 2008
Don't know where the other review came from. I've never read the other Action book, so can't compare it to that.
This book is a great story from the 1970s British comic, Action. If you're a fan of 2000AD or even early British comics, you'll love this. Also, if you enjoy horror or action films, like Jaws, Rollerball, Carrie and the like, then you'll be a big fan. Hook Jaw is somewhat similar to the Hulk, in that he does go after the 'bad guys' but only through sheer accident.
The quality of the book is generally very high (certainly higher than other British collections of The Spider and the Steel Claw) and paper quality is higher than either Marvel Essentials or DC Showcase. Similar to the Dredd books Titan brought out in the 1980s.
Pat Mills is of course a legend in comics but the artwork by Ramon Sola is out of this world. How this guy slipped out of comics, I'll never know.
I hope this is just the start of the reprint collections. I'm desperate to see as I'd love to see some more stories from Battle, Warlord and Action.
