5.0 out of 5 stars So many good songs it's hard to stop listening, 9 Feb 2014
Had never heard a Bombay Bicycle Club album before this one, but I gotta say, this is some of the finest pop music I have heard. Stunning from start to finish with so many highlights it'd be difficult to not be blown away by the sheer magnitude of their magnificent sound.
9.5/10 - just sublimely moving music

5.0 out of 5 stars Weird, crazy and just brilliant from start to finish, 3 Feb 2014
This review is from: Nightshade (Audio CD)
Post-punk, with deadpan vocals and twangy spaghetti-western guitars is a surprisingly cool combination.
Recommended if you like stuff like The Kills. Mysterious and plain genious. 20 minutes of the darkest post-punk you can imagine. Just too cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives me chills, 26 Oct 2012
This review is from: Kaleidoscope Dream (Audio CD)
RnB with a heart, really amazing melodies, songcraft and performance from Miguel.
I usually don't listen to this kind of music, but this just blew me away.
Favorite songs: "Adorn", "Use Me", "Arch & Point", "...All".
Check out his music video for Adorn.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very short, but infinitely re-readable, 26 Oct 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Shit Girls Say (Hardcover)
I bought this book for a friend of mine and we read through it together.
It has a lot of really amazing artsy photos as a backdrop to present the hilarious and very relatable one-liners.
You'll read through it in a matter of minutes, but it's a really neat book although it should perhaps have been a bit longer, though the work put into the presentation is apparent throughout.
Basically this all comes down to price, since 10 is a bit much for the content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning R&B, 28 Aug 2012
This review is from: Perfectly Imperfect (Audio CD)
Perfectly Imperfect is a fresh-sounding and amazingly consistent album. Varner pours her heart into this album which is as equally catchy and cool as it is emotional and raw.
Fantastic album from end to finish.

2.0 out of 5 stars Atrocious vinyl mastering, 18 April 2012
This review is not about the album but the product I bought, which was the vinyl version of the album.
I bought this after listening to the album a few times and deciding that it was pretty good.
Unfortunately despite the extremely appealing packaging and design of the whole thing, the sound is just disappointing because it was obviously a lazy master, probably the same as the CD-version which in turn makes it sound awfully distorted and bad.
The album seems good itself and the download-coupon is a nice bonus. ...But for the price, this is just awful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic album, top notch vinyl mastering, 18 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: A+E [VINYL] (Vinyl)
A+E is very different from Coxon's previous albums and is way more rock and roll-oriented. The closest comparison I can think of in recent memory is Paul Weller, but without the softer sides of rock and with more noise and art-rock influences. The brilliant melodies and guitar work that Coxon has displayed on his previous albums is however still very much visible here.
I bought this album on vinyl and the mastering/sound is excellent, well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously priced Vinyl, fantastic album, 10 April 2012
This review is from: Sonik Kicks [VINYL] (Vinyl)
The vinyl edition of Sonik Kicks is immensively overpriced and should be half the price. It's a single LP in a nice-quality gatefold cover. Get the Deluxe DVD+CD instead which is actually worth the price.
Having said that, the album itself is extremely good, which isn't unexpected when looking at Paul Wellers recent solo efforts.
9/10 album
7/10 vinyl release

5.0 out of 5 stars The most fun album ever made by two bears, 19 Mar 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Be Strong [VINYL] (Vinyl)
I bought the vinyl version of this. The sound is very good, and the songs themselves are incredibly good.
Some songs are very kitchy but that's also why they are so much fun.
This album will probably be enjoyable to anyone as long as they give it a chance, even if you don't listen to electronica :).
Favorites: Be Strong, Bear Hug, Work, Ghosts & Zombies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent sound quality, great album, 15 Mar 2012
This review is from: Break It Yourself [VINYL] (Vinyl)
The vinyl release for this is very good, and the sound surpasses most other records released on vinyl these days.
The album itself is very solid, not his best, but overall very fun and charming.
