4.0 out of 5 stars A Braw wee book, 14 Dec. 2012
When I read this book, I can imagine myself standing at the corner of Kilbowie Road and Clydebank Road outside the pub there, and listening to the gossip of the lassies as they go past.
"So fit was he like when ye met him then?"
"Nae very good. He had a face oan him like a torn melodian!"
I brought back some very vivid memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars A record of experiences in drawings, 14 Dec. 2012

This is a great book demonstrating Jack's record of his experiences on the Thai/Burma railway. The experiences of men in this place and at this time is one that is very hard for we who never experienced such hardship to fully comprehend. Jack Chalker brings the experience to us in a much clearer way than many who have described their experiences in words only. A very informative book.
