2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't seem to like late autumn and early winter., 5 Dec. 2014
I bought 2. Mounted one on a West wall and the other on an East wall. Fine during the autumn but by November, they both only work occasionally. I strongly suspect it's because neither is getting sufficient daylight to recharge them because, after a full day's sun in late November, they both worked for part of the evening (not through the night, though). Only Spring and Summer will show if I am right. I am moving them to a South wall to see if that cures the problem.
Expecting them to work in the Winter doesn't seem too outrageous of me; after all, in what season do you need them most?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 19 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For an occasional user, this amazingly lost cost saw does exactly what I need. My only confusion was over which way to place the on/off switch as the markings are ambiguous. If you buy one, look closely at the switch to work out what it means. If it won't start..... try the other way!

I just love the way it annoys theists! I know that's childish, but..... they are so smug they deserve it.

For those who complained about this being too soft.... why on Earth did you not buy one that said 'stiff bristles'? This brush is ideal if you want to clean your hands/nails without scraping the skin off. Oh.... and I do have a stiff-bristle brush as well for when I need stiff bristles. It seems pretty obvious too me: use the right tool for right job!

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb and rivetting book!, 13 Jan. 2014
If you need 'ammunition' to fight off the god-botherers... this is IT! I have been an atheist for almost 50 years and this book reminds me why! No Abrahamic theist could still support the god of the bible after reading this one! If you are such a theist, remember, this is just the list of the killings done by *your* god as written in *your* bible! If this portrays the true 'morals' of this 'god', then it is the most evil entity in all literature. His kill-count is in the league of Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot: he's up there with the big ones alright! Oh.... and the book is funny, too..... once you realise it's all myth! The book compares a head-count of the deaths by god and by satan, The totals are simply staggering: by comparison, satan is only a serial killer: god, on the other hand, performs genocide, repeatedly. For example, he kills every-single Amelekite (men, women, children and babies plus all their animals) not once, but *three* times! From where did they keep coming? Clearly, god doesn't like Amelekites... Buy this book, if only to read the total... it's a killer!

I have been listening to their stuff for about 4 years: I still can't decide if it's genius or simplistic. However, it's simply Life Enhancing and Joyous... and that's plenty!

1.0 out of 5 stars Be careful if you need this to work with Windows or IPad, 9 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The system sets up and installs well. It's well made and simple to start the process: the problems become noticeable later....

IPad:
It would seem designed to let you share your ITunes music to other machines on your network. It works perfectly with all Windows (etc.) machines.... but..... not with the IPad! You CANNOT share your ITunes library with the Ipad. You can with your IPhone and other Mac devices but NOT with the one machine which needs it most! Quite unbelievable! This is a fault with IPad but, like me, you may have bought this NAS box mainly to SHARE your music with your IPad!

General:
You simply won't believe how slow it is at building 'thumbnail' images of any photos kept on the NAS box. 10,000 photos will take WEEKS to index and create thumbnails and that's using its automatic index/thumbnail software running 24hrs per day!

Windows:
It seems to share files well with Windows machines.... until you note that it allows you to create files with the IDENTICAL letters in both lowercase and UPPERCASE in the same folder! You can even mix them! It's quite possible to create the following 3 files in the same folder:-

letter1.txt
LETTER1.TXT
LeTtEr1.TxT

No Windows based server will allow that!

This is a known 'problem' with Linux based products and this NAS box uses Linux. The problem is that Windows software CANNOT select which one of those it will open and, in some software, denies that the file even EXISTS if you ask for the file with the wrong 'Case'. E.g., with those files in a folder, certain Windows products will respond the file doesn't EXIST if you try to open "leTTer1.tXt"

This is actively risky, particularly if you ever want to copy the folder to a Windows based PC or storage system as it will only copy back ONE of those files, effectively, deleting the rest!

I have two 'urgent queries' lodged with Synology but they have not bothered to reply....... I am fairly unimpressed!

Be warned!

Plus Points:-
**********
* The equipment works well, if slightly short on bass if the bass control is not wound-up quite high.
* For those who care (I don't), it looks good on the desk.
* The Remote volume control is well-made and delightfully heavy (doesn't wander around the desk when being used)

Minus points:-
***********
* It is being sold to UK users with a TWO PIN PLUG! Mindless!
* The volume control is on a good 'remote' BUT.... the bass-control is on the back of the floor-standing sub-woofer.... how am I supposed to adjust it under my desk?

The review could have a been a 5 star if those points had been addressed!
