4.0 out of 5 stars Where's the art?, 3 Dec. 2013
This review is from: ARTPOP [CD+DVD] (Audio CD)
The "art" is purely surface level references, name drops and a couple of pictures in the booklet.
The pop is overly saturated with icky, cringe-worthy, unnecessary sexual content.
The lyrics are borderline ridiculous, frequently confusing and without context.
She also really needs to improve her diction!
Manicure, Applause, Do What U Want and Swine are awesome. Aura and Venus are great, but could have been better if they were restructured, and made sense.
Mary Jane Holland and Fashion! are awful. Gypsy is generic.

Favourite album of 2013, along with Laura Mvula - Sing to the Moon and Woodkid - The Golden Age. Thoroughly brilliant

5.0 out of 5 stars Without a doubt ,the best pop album of 2007, 6 Dec. 2007
This review is from: Blackout (Audio CD)
Wow, wow, WOW! What an indredible album, not only is every song listenable, but EVERY song is good if not very good. A majority of the songs on Blackout could easily be massive hits to follow on from 'Gimme More' and the new single 'Piece of Me'.

Gimme More - 10/10
Piece of Me - 9/10
Radar - 9/10
Break The Ice - 10/10
Heaven on Earth - 7/10
Get Naked (I Got A Plan) - 9/10
Freakshow - 8/10
Toy Soldier - 10/10
Hot as Ice - 10/10
Ooh Ooh Baby - 7/10
Perfect Lover - 8/10
Why Should I Be Sad? - 7/10

4.0 out of 5 stars Waiting for the postman to send this!, 18 Feb. 2006
This review is from: A Little More Personal (Audio CD)
I think the initial perception of when you hear or know that an actress has to tried to make it with a music career is an automatic failure and that they should stick to "what they do best", but this is definetely an exception.
I haven't heard Speak but the song 'Confessions of A Broken Heart' is a brilliant song and the strongest track on the album.
I would definetely recommend or just sampling this album.
Personal favourites:
- Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)
- Who Loves You
- A Little More Personal
- My Innocence
- A Beautiful Life (La Bella Vita)
