5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic, 8 Jan. 2004
This is everything nfsu should have been, first of this is a racing game nothing else.
The variraty of cars is massive, with all the big names, firari, lotus, Porsche ect
This game takes a life time to master, taking the corner perfectly is so important, it can really make or break your race. When you do take it perfectly the satisfaction is immense.
One of the things that realy makes this game fantastic is the online play, it really adds a new depth. Infect its all you need, the only reason i play the single player is to unlock the extra cars and tracks.
A brief review I know but I’m just reinforcing what most other people have said

2.0 out of 5 stars very disapointing, 8 Jan. 2004
This is yet another big ea disappointment, I don’t understand the reviews that give this game 5 stars. These graphics are good, especially the surroundings, but the cars are in need for some aa (the edges are jagged)
The real problem with this game is the fact its a poor racing game. A blind monkey could win the races, you don’t need to break or take the corner well, just slam into the wall.
There is the drag racing mode is the best part of this game, hitting the gear changes spot on is very fulfilling.
Upgrading your cars performance doesn’t feel personal at all, I can see people enjoying the stickers but its not my cup of tea, More boring than anything.
The sound track is average, nothing to impressive really. A few big names, but this game shouldn’t be about the music, that’s should just a supplement.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game for people wanting a fun game, 14 Oct. 2003
I often here people complaining the gamecube is for 'little kids', this is one of those titles which doesn't have big guns, mutated zombies and 'realistic' graphics. This is a game which has a quality often forgot in today's gaming world, it has fun gameplay, a quality to often forgotten. The graphics may not look like 'real' life, but I wouldn't want that, it has fun little characters great looking worlds and loads of great vibrant colours. A game which is rare nowadays, a game which hasn't been rushed and made to make money, it's a game where time has been spent to create a fantastically fun game and for me one of my all-time favourite games. They have used the classic formula like in Mario 64, and I hope they will continue and make more games like this.
This is a game which can only come from a company which takes time over its games like Nintendo. Something the x-box and ps2 will properly never have. This is a must for all gamecube owners, hours of fun at and nice and cheap. It doesn't get any better than this!
