1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy rubbish, 8 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Cracked after just two days in a late 2013 rMBP 15" . It's clear too weak plastics are used in the manufacturing of these adapters. Potential buyers be warned. I'll be waiting for competing products to become available again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth quality panhead, 9 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this panhead to give my monopod a quick release system for my DSLR. It allows for smooth adjustment and weighs very little. As an added bonus, the QB-157 quick release plate can also be used with the AmazonBasics Lightweight Tripod with Bag 60 Inches / 152.4 cm , granted you make some minor adjustments to the latter with some glue and credit card pieces. This way, I can quickly switch between tripod, monopod or just free.

While fastening the panhead with the arm, there's little to no position creep, which is very good considering the price tag. The quick release plate doesn't have a video pin, though Velbon does make the QB-157N, which does have such a pin.

Overall I'd consider this a good investment if you have a tripod or monopod that could use panhead or quick release system. If you have both a monopod and a tripod with both lacking a panhead and/or quick release two of these might be a sound investment too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good protection for bigger DSLR's, 2 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use a Nikon D5100 with a battery grip, which brings the body to about the size of a Canon EOS 1D, rendering most traditional holsters and sleeves useless for my camera. This sleeve however, fits the camera just fine. Now I can safely carry my D5100 in my backpack along with other things, instead of needing to carry both a separate camera bag and my backpack or having to stuff the camera bag in my backpack.

Yes, the product pictures make it look like something naughty, but my logic is: if you're not using the camera, put it away so no potential thieves can grab it. If you ARE using the camera, stow away the sleeve and hang the camera from your neck.
It's wide enough to allow for a Nikon 55-200MM F/4-5.6 AF-S VR DX Black Lens with a reversed Nikon HB-37 Lens Hood. Considering the outer diameter of the HB-37 is 84mm, most lenses with a filter diameter of 72mm should still fit in just fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better iOS earbuds with remote, but beware for wear, 22 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are some of the better available earbuds for the iPhone with microphone and remote control. However, you need to beware for these wearing out. Mine gave in after about 6 months: the contacts inside the remote control stopped working.

Finding whom to contact at Skullcandy for a replacement was difficult and you have to send them to Sweden for the replacement. A few months after having sent them (and having already bought a white replacement pair here on Amazon) I received a completely new set via courier shipping at no extra cost. Moral of this story: getting them replaced under the lifetime warranty can require some patience, but ultimately Skullcandy is quite generous.

When it comes to actual sound quality, you get very nice bass and treble values, two things in which the stock Apple earphones are seriously lacking. Furthermore, these are in-ears which results in greater comfort and excellent passive noise isolation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for smartphones, 22 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A good memory upgrade for smartphones. Though it is "only" class 4, this actually means higher random read/write speeds than a higher-class card offers. To achieve higher speed classes, manufacturers sacrifice random read/write speeds for sequential read/write speeds. Resulting in class 4 cards being actually better for things like upgrading a Windows Phone. I used this card to double a HTC 7 Trophy's memory, which normally consists of a built-in 8GB microSD-card.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good soldering help, could use some modification, 22 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a great help to hold some wires and/or a circuit board, though it could use a heavier base or a clamp to secure it to a table. The magnifying glass could use a longer articulating arm to offer greater flexibility. Despite these shortcomings, one of these things are a useful addition to your working table if you do more than occasional soldering work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do, 22 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This switch does what it's supposed to do. Essentially it's just a purely mechanical switch, meaning you can switch between 3 inputs to one device or send output of one device to one of three devices. You might need to be a bit picky on which optical cable you use, as some have a plug which is too short, resulting in the signal not being properly passed on through the switch. I use it to switch audio between my desktop, console and notebook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best 360 controller thus far, 22 Sept. 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The differences between this controller and the stock one that comes with your Xbox 360 are a transforming D-pad and redesigned analog sticks. These are minor differences, but fans of beat-em-ups, platformers or other games that tend to rely heavily on the D-pad will relish the improved control these offer. Must-buy if you need an extra controller or need to replace your current one for whichever reason.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cooling, fan mate mandatory, 20 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The VF1000-LED gives you really good cooling for the compatible graphics cards. Unless you're overclocking the card, it might be wise to use the supplied fan-mate to lower the fan voltage. At full speed it's one noisy bugger, but even at a barely audible speed this solution still offers far better cooling than virtually every stock heatsink+fan combo. Ideal for repurposing an older high-end graphics card for a quiet HTPC.

Sony AD-7261S-0B 24x Internal DVDRWRAM SATA Black Lightscribe
Sony AD-7261S-0B 24x Internal DVDRWRAM SATA Black Lightscribe

4.0 out of 5 stars Silent drive, 20 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What you get is just the drive without any extra screws, cables or software. This is ideal for OEMs and system builders, though screws might have been a welcome extra, or a sample lightscribe CD to demonstrate the technology. Lightscribe software is freely available online, but unfortunately this technology will remain doomed until blank CD/DVD manufacturers start offering Lightscribe-discs at reasonable prices.

The drive creates very little noise while reading a CD or DVD, perfect for people who have to handle lots of discs but hate continuous droning noise or a small jet engine on their desk.
