4.0 out of 5 stars Visitation Reigns Supreme!, 30 Aug. 2011
I must admit to being a fan of the Visitation series that started with Say No To Joe? and concluded with Jamie. I didn't read them in order the first time round but have now made amends and added this to my book collection!

This book is about Bruce who is a preacher that settles in Visitation to be nearer to his twin brother Bryan (the bounty hunter - but that's a different story!). While travelling he meets up with Cynthia (Cyn) and his do-gooder instincts aren't the only things aroused.

This is a very unusual book as the heroine is a prostitute. I was rather shocked at first but the background and subsequent information that we are given does a good job of rationalising this and in Bruce we do have a very understanding hero. That's not to say that Bruce is a doormat - he comes across as empathic rather than pathetic! It helps that Cyn is so young and has already left that part of her past behind.

I really enjoyed this - the dialogue was often snappy and the confusion over Cyn meeting the wrong twin is quite good too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gritty and Sexy..., 30 Aug. 2011
I was put off by one of the other reviewers and skipped to reading the second book of the series (Trace of Fever) and, as I really enjoyed that I thought I'd give this a try. I am so glad that I did! Some of the subject matter is rather uncomfortable - Dare is the name of our hero (rather a daft name but hey ho!) who is a mercenary rescuing his best friend's sister from sex traffickers and at the same time he finds Molly. She has been kept chained up, starved and beaten - and as she is there he rescues her too - well, he could hardly leave her there. Molly wants to know who had her kidnapped so hires Dare to find the answers and in the process they fall in love - rather lustfully! Molly's father does react oddly (as per the other reviewers comments) but its a fact of life that some people in this world should never be parents - children (and the adults they grow up to be) can be physically and or mentally abused regardless of class, race, religion or wealth.

4.0 out of 5 stars Julie Rose's turn..., 28 Aug. 2011
Anyone reading any of the books concerning Visitation will enjoy this book - while I didn't think it was as good as Say No to Joe or Jamie it was still very enjoyable. This book centered on the school teacher Julie Rose who is kidnapped but promptly rescued by Clint Evans. Clint has his own demons but is such a likeable rogue - he is great at fighting bad guys but has a nervous stomach!! He is also gruffly kind so you can see why he appeals to Julie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Something about you...., 15 May 2011
Something About You - this book is a about Cameron and Jack; Cameron is the only witness to a murder when she treats herself to a night in a posh hotel while her floors get sanded. The investigating agent is sexy Jack. When they had last met Cameron had to let Jack down professionally and Jack nearly lost his career when he hit back un-professionally. Their budding attraction hit the skids and when they meet up again, because of the murder, the sparks fly.

I liked the characters and there are some funny lines. As plots go there was more substance than in many books of this ilk. I'd read other books by this author.

MOUTH TO MOUTH
MOUTH TO MOUTH

4.0 out of 5 stars Mouth to Mouth - Lousy title but great read..., 15 May 2011
Mouth to Mouth is a horrible title (makes me think of CPR) but the book is really quite nice. The main characters are sweet; a deaf woman who is shy but looking for more to life and a cop who really appeals as he is shown to be responsible and kind (as well as being sexy!).

I really enjoyed the humour that winds through this book - the side-romance between the cop's partner and the best friend was a hoot and the mother walking in on the morning after the night before was pretty good too!

Overall I would (and did) recommend this book to a friend.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit of fun..., 15 May 2011
The main character in this book is flighty, swears a bit too much and has a juvenile irreverance that verges on rudeness. But if you look past that it was a quick read that really did make me laugh.

The plot is straightforward: young fun-loving gal gets life saved by nanobot technolgy that turns her into a super-spy. She resists but ends up helping to catch a murderer while at the same time falling hard for a delicious male counterpart.

The sub-plot romance between the agency head and the gal's best friend was a bit far fetched but then the whole book was far fetched and if you're going to suspend belief anyway well, who cares?

Overall I enjoyed reading this and would read more books by this author.
