2.0 out of 5 stars Awful value for money., 27 Feb. 2015

Fine story but terrible value for money. This is a short story and as such does little to warrant the purchase price, given it is a very old copyright free text.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Fall: the first book is let down by the next two instalments, 3 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Fall (Kindle Edition)
The first book is sound and enjoyable. After that the second and third books become seemingly longer, more turgid and infinitely less enjoyable. In the second and third book I shamefully found myself speed reading parts as it was dull, over long and just a bit unnecessary.

The first book is good but I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it as it means you may feel obliged to read the other two. On that basis it is probably wiser to move along and choose another title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Liking Motley Crüe's music is certainly not a prerequisite for this car crash tale of excess., 2 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I never liked Motley Crüe (I actively disliked them) but I really liked this tale of drink, drugs and debauchery. What shines through is their brutal, unvarnished honesty which at times (many times actually) paints themselves and their other bandmates in an absolutely terrible light. There are many laugh out loud moments and I hope you find it as engrossing, appalling and as amusing as I did.

Superb, top quality product. The presentation is a cut above any torch I've ever owned.

Was lucky enough to buy one on a lightning deal and am mighty pleased I did. Sturdy, robust construction and a super bright beam. Judging by the construction it should last a lifetime.

Most satisfied and worth every single one of its 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars All you need is kill., 2 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A film that not enough people saw, which is a shame as it is rather good and much better than the standard action scifi fare.

If you are a Tom Cruise fan you will love it and if you hate Tom Cruise there is something for you as well as you get to see him die over and over and over again.

This is one of the few films I recall that has changed its name for DVD release. Originally it was called All you need is kill, which became Edge of Tomorrow for its cinematic release and now Live. Die. Repeat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lifesaver - well, it's pretty darn good., 2 Feb. 2015

Really, really great. You get the right amount of water, at the perfect temperature that is safe for your baby.

Seems an extravagance, but saves a lot of time boiling fresh water and trying to warm up feeds.

Cold water is added to a tank where it is slowly filtered making it perfectly safe for your little one. When making a feed It first gives a small hot shot which serves to kill any bacteria in the formula feed then the second shot gives the balance of the required volume. The finished liquid is ready in a minute of so, is safe and is the perfect temperature for your baby.

I was not too sure when I bought it but it has proved itself invaluable within the first four weeks.

Highly recommended.

Fitbit Surge Ultimate Fitness Super Watch - Black, Large
Fitbit Surge Ultimate Fitness Super Watch - Black, Large

4.0 out of 5 stars It's probably best of its kind - for now, 2 Feb. 2015
Received my Surge at launch from Fitbit and had been excitedly awaiting its release as it seemed to be everything I wanted from a fitness tracker.

The Good:
I think it looks good. It can replace your watch. It has four designs of watch face to choose from.
It has GPS
It has a HR monitor
Battery life is excellent at 5 days. I think it's a stated 10hrs when using GPS. Reports suggest Apple iWatch will be just 1 day between charges to put the 5 days into perspective.

The Bad:
The Surge is water resistant to 5ATM. That sounds fine but Fitbit recommend taking the watch off before showering which I personally think is a pain. They seem to offer confused advice as they have also contradicted themselves by saying it is ok to shower with it but they don't advise it. That means no swimming in it, unlike the upcoming Garmin Vivoactive. If you want to track your swimming then look elsewhere.

I have read a few reports of condensation build up under the screen which suggests issues with the seal. I cannot help but think this is linked to the backtracking about water resistance.

It doesn't return to the home screen after say 10 seconds of inactivity. You manually have to return back to the clock page. Minor gripe.

Overall I really like my Surge. If it was waterproof then I would love it. It's better than its main competitor, the Basis Peak. The upcoming Garmin looks excellent and is the same price so you should compare functionality before taking the plunge.

Strap sizes: I would say if you are a man then get large and if you are a woman get small. I would say the large is the same size as an average gent's watch.

Hope this helps those of you reading countless reviews before pressing the button and buying one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read on narco trafficking., 30 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Thoroughly enjoyed this story about narco trafficking in the 1980s and America & Mexico's war on drugs, mixing in plenty of fact with fiction. Was rather sad when it ended. Can easily see this being adapted into a HBO series. Indeed, it really should be adapted for the screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, quality mitre saw stand, 30 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very easy to assemble and very strong. Locking tubular design that fold away for convenience. The mitre saw is secure held via the clamps which lock onto the stand. Wanted to buy a Dewalt stand but this was three times less and does the identical same job.
