A Dark Blue Perfume and Other Stories
A Dark Blue Perfume and Other Stories
by Ruth Rendell
Edition: Audio CD

4.0 out of 5 stars Sinister collection, 7 Jun 2012
A solid collection of Ruth Rendell's self-contained sinister stories. I liked some more than others, but each story had something to recommend it. Well worth a listen for Ruth Rendell fans, or those aspiring to be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poirot's shorts, 7 Jun 2012
I'm a big Christie fan and, for me, this did not disappoint. A collection of self-contained short Hercule Poirot stories from Murder in the Mews. I liked some more than others, but they each had something to offer.

If you like Poirot, I would say it's worth trying it out to see for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic edge of your seat Grisham, 7 Jun 2012

This is an excellent story, a pacy thriller, with an innovative, satisfying conclusion. Well read, this will keep your interest right up to the last sentence.

5.0 out of 5 stars What's not to like?, 7 Jun 2012
If you already love Agatha, you'll love this. Good story, great listening and who doesn't like Penelope Keith's perfectly fitting tones reading to you in your very own home.

The Beastly Gazette
The Beastly Gazette

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny and pleasingly eccentric, 7 Jun 2012
This review is from: The Beastly Gazette (Paperback)
Funny, unusual short stories with great accompanying cartoons. Makes a great 'dip in and out' read. Perfect toilet book. Will make you laugh, smile and cringe a bit in places. Worth a look.

George Best: An Intimate Biography
George Best: An Intimate Biography
by Michael Parkinson
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars All you want to know about the Best, 7 Jun 2012
Who better to write a biography of George Best than Michael Parkinson. It is clear from the writing that he liked, sympathised with and respected the guy as a footballer and a man. Found out some interesting tidbits. Loved one mate's affectionate, honest portrayal for another.

Project Management and Project Network Techniques
Project Management and Project Network Techniques
by Keith Lockyer
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Tools and Techniques galore, 7 Jun 2012
This is the main book I used for my degree in project management - and I passed! It is full of clearly laid out tips, tools and techniques essential for effectively managing both simple and complex projects. The learning is focused on business projects but can be effectively applied to personal projects too - such as planning a wedding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Terry Pratchett's winning wit on real cats, 7 Jun 2012
This review is from: The Unadulterated Cat (Paperback)
Terry Pratchett's 'Cat', is a real cat with recognisable habits and a good old personality that anyone who has lived with one will appreciate.

Mr Pratchett certainly knows what he's on about. I especially liked the cat games section - offside and cat chess were my favourites. I've played offside with cats countless times and I always lose. The description for cat chess was a flash of genius too.

The cartoons are great and even present a new and hopefully successful way to pill a cat.

It's Pratchett so of course it's funny. A cute book and one I've gone back to read again and again. Highly recommend to other cat people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Murder mystery, golf and a jigsaw, what more could you want?, 7 Jun 2012
For four friends, an early round of golf was par for the course, but one fine morning, the going got rough, and death turned the foursome into a threesome. It was a mystery. The answers are hidden in the puzzle. First you read the enclosed short story, and if you're like me and my friends, you act out the murder mystery over dinner too. Then you assemble the 1000 piece puzzle. Next, you look in the puzzle for the answers to the murder. If you like murder mysteries and jigsaws, like I do, you can't go wrong with this. I haven't seen anything like this before or since I bought it.

Three Radio Mysteries: v.1: Three BBC Radio 4 Full-cast Dramatisations Vol 1 (BBC Radio Collection)
by Agatha Christie
Edition: Audio CD

4.0 out of 5 stars A jolly good listen, 7 Jun 2012
I'm a big Christie fan and, unlike some of the other reviewers, found the settings of these versions refreshing and just as enjoyable as the original versions. I thoroughly enjoyed all 4 volumes of these stories and would recommend others try them out to see for themselves.
