5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Overview, 3 Jan. 2012
This review is from: C. Scott Littleton (Hardcover)
I first happened across this volume in a country pub in Worcestershire. I thought it would make a great gift for my flat-mate who also has an interest in the subject-area, so much so, that I in fact traipsed back to said pub at a later date to write down the title and author (and indulge in a pint or two of their finest ales). I was delighted to find the hardback edition on amazon.co.uk. The text deals with "major myth-making cultures" - namely: Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome, the Celts, India, China, Japan, North America, Mesoamerica, Africa and Australasia. If you're looking for specific detail any one of these areas then this is probably not quite the book for you. But if you are after a comprehensive overview to nurture an interest in the subject, this offers an excellent, compelling and extensively illustrated gateway and would be an asset to any educational institution. There is also a list of the contributors and their areas of expertise at the rear which may allow for further reading in anyone of the world cultures presented.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trees Please, 11 Feb. 2011
If you like trees buy a copy of this book. The irony is its made from trees, but actually felling and replanting of forest areas is the best way to maximise carbon uptake. All that aside, the trees within the leafy pages of this book will blow you away!

Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive - Cool Silver
Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive - Cool Silver

4.0 out of 5 stars Externally Yours, 12 Oct. 2010
This is a hard drive. Its external. It's silver. Have never had any issues with WD products to date. The software that comes with these slightly more rounded versions is a little more annoying than the previous model but still a handy little drive. We have used them for travel projects to Korea and New Zealand and they've been just the ticket.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surfing and Shredding, fun for all the family!, 23 Mar. 2009
I watched these films with my girlfriend who is not into either of the subject matters (in fact she regularly condemns skateboards due to the amount of time I spend with mine!). Anyway, she and my other non-skating friends found them engaging, interesting and enjoyable because they are not just for fanatics and geeks (myself included), they are well constructed films in themselves.
