If you have seen my review of the first part of this show, well, this is more of the same.
We continue to follow the story of young Watanuki and the mysterious witch, Yuko.
Beware what you wish for, you might just get it granted.

I like anime and have seen quite a bit in my time but tend to like short series or movies over long running shows, however this series moves at a fast pace and the episodes vanish very quickly.
Superbly mixing action, comedy and pathos with nice character development, nicely done art for the heavier action scenes and emotional moments and a more than decent dub.
It fully deserves the number of five star ratings given to it.

A 13 episode slice of killing life anime about young girls who should be dead or hospitalised turned into cyborg assassins with their old life memories mostly erased.
They are given new names and are brainwashed to adore their handlers who they see as older brothers, father figures or just plain infatuation.
The handlers are ex cops or military and each see's the girls differently, some with compassion, others with hurtful indifference.
The story is slow paced, just basically showing their lives together and how it affects them emotionally.
The opening song, 'the light before we land' and title sequence is perfect for the show and gives the perfect idea of what the show is about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthy of 5 stars, 8 Feb 2014
A quality anime that is very artistic, a ghostly romance mystery thriller that would be well worth adding to any decent anime collection and one that yet again shows that a limited number of episodes can pack a real punch story wise.
Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good Anime, 7 Feb 2014
Young girls who should have passed on are paired with monks to fight undead spirits, contracted to fight until they reach a certain number at which point they believe they will enter heaven.
This is a very good anime but with some fan service, it has a nice dose of mystery with some good comedic moments and plenty of action and would have been a five star Anime if the ending was not left so open.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply brilliant, 24 Dec 2013
This review is from: Wolf Children [DVD] (DVD)
This is a simply brilliant story.
A young woman falls in love with a werewolf, they have a daughter and son before tragedy strikes and she has to raise them herself.
We see them grow from babies to teens whilst their mother tries to hide the secret of them being changlings.
This movie will put a smile on your face whilst putting a tear in your eye.
The art is gorgeous and the soundtrack fits the movie perfectly.
If you liked, 'Summer Wars' and 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' you will want to watch this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game of life and death, 22 Dec 2013
Have seen a lot of Anime and had heard a lot about this show, good and bad but decided to see for myself.
The first seven episodes are very enjoyable, the characters entering into an online game into which they become trapped and that they cant escape from unless they reach the end, also if they die in the game they die in reality.
The art is top quality and the soundtrack is decent.
The price is the only bad thing about this release, which is a shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another top anime, 7 Oct 2013
2011 was a good year for Anime with two brilliant shows airing in Madoka Magica and Steins;gate.
This is the second half of Steins;gate and the crap has really hit the fan, with Okabe desperately trying to alter the timelines to save the people closest to him, even if it means reversing everything he has done previously to help people, cue a nice slice of suffering and despair, especially when he realises the final thing he must undo and what it will cost.
This is highly recommended viewing.

This review is from: Shiki Part 2 [DVD] (DVD)
Following on from my review of part one, we see the villagers quickly succumbing to the vampire plague but there are a few who try to fight back, but who really believes in vampires, can they be stopped in their plan for the village and what actually works when attempting to kill the undead?
The answer is violent and bloody and asks the question of who are the real monsters in an emotionally gut wrenching battle of survival.

If you like vampire stories, the non twinkly type, this is for you.
It is a bit of a slow burner, with good art and a great musical score.
It reminds me quite a bit of Salems Lott, with a quiet, secluded village suddenly finding a mysterious new family arriving one dark night and a sickness starting to spread amongst the population.
A few of the villagers start to have ideas on what is happening but are seemingly powerless to stop the spread of death as it reaches epidemic proportions.
By the end of part one you feel that all hope is lost for the villagers.
Bring on part two :)
