Engrossing and real, 27 Jun. 2011
I found this new author's book to be a real change from the majority of the spy thrillers out there, most of which rely on James Bondish gadgetry and ridiculous coincidences or plot twists to make their story exciting. Morgan Jones instead opts for a gritty and real take on modern day espionage which is more often than not carried out by corporations rather than governments. Webster, Hammer, and the doomed Lock are real people with real issues and thus feel uncannily similar to people I have run across in the corporate world. And Malin also rings very true for one who has had dealings with Russian businessmen. Morgan Jones has the ability to get inside their heads and portray situations that make it impossible to put the book down - and without having to resort to cliches or stereotypes. I found it fascinating, extremely entertaining and also a book which I kept thinking about days after having finished it. I can't wait to see what more Morgan Jones has in store for us!
